We stayed at the Best Western I Triangoli Hotel on our last night in Italy. We wanted a clean, good value hotel that is close to the Fiumicino Airport. We were extremely satisfied with our stay.

The Hotel is a 25-30 minute drive to the airport. We had a rented car and had no problems finding our way to the airport during morning rush hour. Drivers driving to the airport should note that the Fiumicino Airport is also referrred to as the Leonardo Da Vinci Airport on some highway panels.

The hotel is located on the outskirts of Rome and is also a 15 minute drive away from a very popular beach. There is not much else to do around the hotel. You wil find a few small cafes within walking distance and a shopping centre within a 15 minute drive.

Althought the I Triangoli does not have a restaurant on site, there are a few good restaurants and fast food places within walking and driving distance. We were, however, cautioned by some not to walk too far away from the hotel at night.

Service at the front desk was excellent, indoor parking was included in the price and the room was large, comfortable. very clean with good amenities and even had a balcony. The buffet breakfast was very good, plentiful with a large selection of breakfast items. For the very reasonable price we paid, this modern hotel is an excellent choice for someone looking to spend their last night near the airport. We would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is nice, the rooms are well furnished, the parking in the garage is free...but...the woman at the reception was completely unhelpful and very rude. I'd go back except for the fact that I might have to deal with her again. I've actually cancelled my reservation for next week because of this experience.

We stayed at the Triangoli recently on a quick visit to Rome. We picked it because of it's location and proximity to Fiumicino Airport, which is about 40 minutes away if the traffic is not too heavy. The hotel is quite new, a bit like an upmarket Premier Travel Inn , the rooms are compact but nicely done, clean, decent bathroom, TV(confusing), balcony, air con, mini bar(expensive) but no kettle.
The breakfast is excellent, catering for the mainly American guests, with a varied selection of scrambled and fried eggs, cold meats, rolls and croissants, juices, fruit, cereals and of course good coffee.
The staff are friendly and efficient, but their travel directions are a bit confusing because of the way the roads are actually laid out! We were given directions to the EUR metro about 15 minutes away, missed it completely and found ourselves still looking for it an hour later when we got to the city walls!
The only downside to this hotel, apart from it being so far from a metro station for access to the center of Rome, is the fact that it has no restaurant to cater for guests in the evening, so the reception staff have to point you to a local restaurant. The first one they sent us to was really expensive, the second night we went to Il Cuoco Pazzo (crazy chef) which was a bit better value. If you go, look out for Kamal, the pizza chef from Egypt who speaks excellent English and is actually a qualified vet!

  • Liked — Value for money
  • Disliked — No evening restaurant, distance from metro.

We had a very early flight from Fiuminico. The hotel was very clean with spacious rooms. They arranged for our transportation to the airport which arrived at the exact time. It was 42 euros for four of us with 7 bags. The hotel is situated in a quiet area about 20 minutes to the airport.

  • Liked — Proximity to airport
  • Disliked — Wouldn't use it as a home base to the city

We selected this hotel for our last night in Rome because we thought it was close to the airport. Well, it sort of is and sort of isn't, and since our International flight left before their "free" shuttle started, we had to take a taxi at a whopping cost of $50 euros. Still, the hotel itself was great, the room top notch, the bar and restaurant great, and a nearby restaurant just down the street was also super. There maybe a hotel closer to the airport than this one for an early start to fly home but I doubt that you will find a nice hotel at around $100-$130 euros depending on the season. The staff was also extremely friendly. Would definitely choose again if needed.

  • Liked — Very new facility, the room was top notch
  • Disliked — it did take a long bus ride from Metro Station to reach
