“Delicious!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2013

The pizza here is the best I had in Rome. Served by the slice and weighed for price, the crust is fantastic and the toppings are generous slabs of mozzarella and veggies cooked to perfection.

“Outstanding surprise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2013

We happened upon this place during a stroll in the Trastevere. Finding it was unexpected - the smells coming from the pizza oven drew us in. I'm not sure we could find it a second time but it would definitely be worth effort. Wonderful pizza and cookies at very reasonable prices!

“Best bread in Rome!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2013

This is not a restaurant, but rather a bakery with a counter along the side and some stools, located in the Trastevere area of Rome. We found out about this place years ago because one of our favorite restaurants in Trastevere, da Augusto, is located less than a block away and this is where they get their bread. The bread is always warm from the oven when they serve it. It has a thick crunchy crust and a soft, warm delicious inside - so, so good!

We have never eaten their pizza, but have watched them make it behind their glass window. You can get pizza with all kinds of toppings. You tell them how large a piece you want, they cut it, weigh it and heat it so you can eat it there or take it away. I am sure the dough is as tasty as their bread dough so I would not hesitate buying it. This bakery is ALWAYS crowded.

“Best pizza I've ever eaten”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2013 via mobile

Found out about the place on a food tour. They ccok the pizza in an oven that is over 100 years old and it uses hazelnut shells instead of wood. They add the toppings after the crust is baked. On the food tour we got to go into where the oven is, which is in another building next door. The pizza is so good we went back this afternoon for lunch. The crust is really crunchy and they have any kind you may want right in front of your eyes. You make your selection, they weigh it for price and pop it into a warming oven to heat it up. Their bread is also awesome! We ate our lunch there just to watch the action. Take out seems to be 95% of their business and everyone was local.

If you want real pizza and not the garbage available on every street corner in Rome make the effort to get here. It will be worth the effort to find it.

“Best pizza we had in Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

We stopped at this bakery in Trastevere as our guide book suggested it. It had a nice array of pizzas to chose from as well as fresh bread and biscotti. The pizza was on focaccia bread and used a variety of seasonal toppings. By the time we'd eaten our pizza the queue was out the door, seemed very popular with the locals which is always a good sign. If you're in the neighbourhood pop in for a slice.
