My husband and I stayed at the Roman Residence for 3 nights before embarking on a cruise. We were referred there by the proprietors of the Nicholas Inn. We had a wonderful stay there!
Our flight arrived at Fiumicino Airport at 8:30, and we arrived at the Roman Residence at 10:00, well before the check in time. Massimo gave us a breakfast voucher and we spent an hour having breakfast at the Orologio Bar down the street until the room was ready. It was wonderful to be able to check in early and have a catnap to recover from the long flight from LA!
The hotel (which consists of 4 rooms in a building that holds 6 similar small hotels) is one year old, and everything still looks brand new. The rooms are spacious by European standards, and have all of the modern conveniences except for telephones, which we didn't miss at all. The free Wifi was great - I could call home on Skype and have little or no charge for doing so.
Massimo and Stefano were most hospitable - they always took the time to chat with us, made great recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing and made us feel completely welcome.
Breakfast was at the Orologio Bar, located right down the street. They stuffed us every morning with crossaints, panini, freshly squeezed juice and our choice of coffee beverage. It was not possible to say no to them.
Roman Residence is located 2 blocks from Termini Station, so is very conveniently located for the train and Metro systems. The neighborhood has lots of shops and restaurants, and we felt perfectly safe being out late at night (midnight being my idea of "late"). Although Via Cavour is a busy street the rooms face a courtyard and are very quiet.
We are hoping to return to Roman Residence again!
