We (3 couples) stayed at the Roman Residence over the May 1st long weekend. My choice of the RR was based on its high rating in Trip Advisor however I was a bit anxious since there were only 12 reviews at the time. Now I know why they were all so positive. Massimo is a great host. He made us feel very much at home - our every request was met with a gracious smile and immediate response. And his name seems to go a long way in the neighborhood. Mention Massimo at the local restaurants and experience an immediate increase in attention. The B&B itself is well situated, within walking distance to some major attractions and only 2 blocks from the metro and main train station. The rooms are comfortable, modern and very well maintained. The surrounding neighborhood is clean and safe. The Roman Residence is a great place to call home when in Rome.

I agree with all of the previous posts. Massimo and his staff do everything they can to assure a pleasant stay. He even found a place for my husband to enjoy a cigar and had our laundry done for us in one day. This is not a place for relaxing, but for a good night's sleep and immaculate conditions you cannot beat Roman Residence.

My friend and I arrived two days before our husbands and we were met by Massimo. He was our host and quickly became our friend. He advised us on many things and scheduled some tours for us and we could not say enough wonderful things about him. The rooms were very nice and well kept. Our breakfasts were also great. We walked a short distance down the street to the bar, but it was worth it. We were well located to everything. We would hightly recommend Massimo and the Roman Residence to our family and friends.

Myself and my husband have just returned from our city break in Rome and had an absolutely wonderful time. We only had a couple of days to see the city and the Roman Residence is in the perfect location! 5 Minutes from the Colesseum, the Termini train station, the Vittoriana and only a short 10 mintue walk into the city where you will find the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Piazza Del Popolo, Piazza Navona, Pantheon and so much more!
The hotel itself was spotless, Massimo apologised for the size of the room (we had the smallest one of 4) but it really wasn't at all too small, there was plenty of room for the 2 of us and the complimentary bottle of Chianti we had waiting in our room when we arrived was lovely!
For breakfast we were given a voucher to take to a nearby cafe (which is quite common in Rome) and were treated to a beautiful little coffee shop that served the freshest orange juice, amazing coffee and tasty pastry's each morning.
Massimo was a best host! Helping us find our way around via the metro and recommending some good places to eat!
I have already recommended The Roman Residence to all my friends and family and when (not if!) I return to Rome I will definately be staying here again!!
Rome really is an amazing city, for a romantic break, a historical adventure or just a simple weekend of shopping there is something for everyone. The food is fantastic, the people are friendly and welcoming and the only problem with our whole trip was that it simply wasnt long enough.
One piece of advice for female travellers though, if you're going to Rome in spring or summer its quite tempting to wear a little strappy top in the heat but take a little shawl or cardigan in your bag as you will not be allowed to enter the churches, Pantheon or St Pietra's Basilica unless you cover up.
Also, even though this was my second trip to Rome, I took a little AA guide book with us which proved extremely handy! There are so many restaurants, pizzerias and cafe's just lining the streets that it can be difficult to pick one and some are not as good as others, the guide book was excellent for finding good places to eat and even told us where to get Romes most famous chocolate chip ice cream!! (in the Piazza Navona look for a little place called Tre Scalini and ask for it!!)

We stayed here for 5 nights at the start of October 2008, we met up with friends (another couple) who also stayed here for 4 nights. We all loved the friendliness of our hosts & the rooms.
The rooms were spacious, new, comfortable, & clean. The bathroom is a bit noisy because of the saniflow toilet (noisy when flushed), but that was the only imperfection.
The location was good with lots of buses, the metro & trains very close by.
I didn't take any good photos of the room, but the website has photos that are true to whre we stayed.
The value for money is good too, most places charging similar amounts are old & not as clean.
The breakfast is provided at a cafe about 100-150m down the road. This isn't a problem & the food is tasty & the service is friendly.
We will definitely be staying here again when we go to Rome.
Oh, the hotel is one of many in the same building taking up part of a level. The entry is next to a souvenir store...
