Best part of staying here is that you feel less of a tourist and more of 'part of the city'. Romeo al Babuino is only a colletion of 3 rooms and you get your own front door key. Owner is warm and friendly and his travel tips are very useful! Proximity to laundry and convenience store a plus. Collection of books, expresso machine and tea available in lounge 24-hours a nice additional touch. Only downside - rather small shower stall. Also if you want to cook you'll need to inform him or housekeeper to get additional kitchen equipment.

We just got back from a three day stay at Romeo al Babuino.

WOW !

It already started prior to the arrival when Giulio, the owner, send a mail asking whether we wanted a limo service from the airport, obviously same rate as the taxi but no rip off possible. So there we are at Rome airport with a smart italian waving a plate with our name and off we went. I could get used to this.

We arrived and the location could not be better. 100 m to Piazza del populo, at the foot of the park of the Villa Borghese, 400 m away from the Spanish steps. It just keeps rolling...

The place itself was gigantic. Normally in cities like Rome, London or Paris rooms are either small, noisy or small and noisy and obviously overpriced. Here you get big and quiet. And clean. And friendly. Free WiFi in the room as well. What more do you you want ? Oh yes - democratic prices in the mini bar. Unless you consider 1.5 Euro for a can of beer dear.

You live like a roman amongst romans on a very upmarket shopping street. You get the keys to your place and you're on your own. Breakfast seems to be served at a Cafe nearby. We did not bother with it and went (well) to a cafe nearby.

Our suite did have a kitchenette as well, of which we made no use.

Would I recommend this place ? You bet. It's that good I recommend it to my parents. Thanks to a very lenient check out time (what time DO you want to check out) we could keep our room until the last minute, grab a cab this time and head back home from a very pleasant and relaxing time in Rome.

Thanks Giulio !

I’m working for a worldwide known tour operator and my job is to guide groups of tourists in tours of the main cities in Europe. These tours are pretty high class, and usually we sleep in four or five stars hotels. Last time I was in Rome I extended my stay a couple of days at the end of the tour, to visit some friends, and in this occasion I wanted to explore other places, different from the usual ones. Almost by chance I ended up in Romeo al Babuino, and must admit I was positively impressed. I got suite Armanda, a large and stylish suite, with a beautiful travertine shower box: much better than most of the hotel rooms I usually end-up with my groups, at a fraction of price!
With its few rooms and lack of lobby, definitely it’s not a place for groups, but if you travel alone it may well be your ideal place to stay for your next trip to Rome.

We had so much fun in Rome, due in no small part to the wonderful little hotel, ROMEO AL BABUINO ,in which we stayed .The location is fantastic...via del Babuino...is very alive...and runs between the
Piazza di Spagnia and the Piazza del Popolo. The hotel is a quiet ,clean, little contemporary haven with a caring staff, that is well priced. We hope tat we can return on our next visit.
