We had so much fun in Rome,due in no small part to the wonderful little hotel, ROMEO AL BABUINO ,in which we stayed .The location is fantastic...via del Babuino...is very alive...and runs between the
Piazza di Spagnia and the Piazza del Popolo.The hotel is a quiet ,clean, little contemporary haven with a caring staff,that is well priced.We hope tat we can return on our next visit.

After arriving on a cold wet night, we were welcomed into an apartment that was warm, immaculate and extremely comfortable. The location is fabulous, close to the Spanish Steps, main shopping district and the Metro to get around to all that Rome has to offer. The modern, well appointed room was a quiet haven from the busy city just outside (not that you would know it, once you stepped inside from the street). The room we stayed in was large with a king sized bed and separate lounge area. Very good value for money given the expensive hotels in the area, and it felt like being in one's own apartment rather than a hotel.

I travel a lot and usually I don`t write reviews about places I visit, eventhough I read them and take advantage of it. This time I make an exception, because Giulio the manager of Romeo al Babuino was so kind and invested so much care to make my stay enjoyable, that I feel I want to acknowlegde that this way.

The place is really beautiful and meets completely my style: all new, modern and and elegant. This is quite unsual for Rome, where I mostly found overloaded antique staff like brocades and baroque furniture. The location is top, the best one to visit in Rome.
So is the care and attention of the staff, very discret and yet always ready to help me throughout my stay. I t started with a private taxi – a BMW 7 with a professional driver- which was organised to pick me up at the airport. Evenhough my flight was one hour late the driver was waiting there for me. I arrived at the private hotel very late, extremly tired and hungry. Guilio managed to organize an ensuite catering Sushi dinner with champagne in ten minutes!
The next days his recommendations and precious hints supported me a lot to make the best use of my time in Rome: all restaurants proposed by him were just perfect. It feels really special to find someone who can provide you with excellent and neutral insider information. Alltogether it was a feeling like being at home at the Romeo al Babuino, the top location of Rome, for 4 days. "

I recommend it. When I travel for business I have a $ 300 daily allowance for hotels. Since I travel a lot, I hate to sleep in anonymous places that make me feel sad and lonely… This place is full of style and personality, and equipped to fulfill my communications needs. One positive remark about the telephone bill: quite cheap. I spent over two hours on the phone with the States and the final bill was less than 40 $.
I really enjoyed it. Breakfast is OK but a little overpriced. I suggest to get it in one of the fantastic cafeterias just around the corner, like Canova Tadolini, or La Bouvette.
