“cannot fault anything - PERFECT”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2013

We dined here after reading reviews and we were so glad we did. Its hidden in the back streets close to the Spanish steps and piazza di spagna. The restaurant had a warm feel to it and lovely décor filled with locals and tourists dining.
The staff were friendly and accommodating and as for the food...so good! I have prawn and zucchini risotto and my partner lobster linguini. I expected the bill to be high but the prices were standard for Rome.
We were lucky as we made it for the last night before they closed for the month of August for their summer break

“"THE BEST RESTAURANT”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

This was one of our favorite places in Rome, I wish I could eat here every week!! We let the owner tell us what was the special and went with it, soooo good. The service was fabulous too.
This should be the number one in Rome!

“Great service great food.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

A gem. Should be closer to no. 1 than 61,.we ate here twice during a week long trip to Rome.it was great to get away from the crap served up to tourists in most of the pizza/pasta places and get a proper meal. I 'm not going to rant on about the food etc. if you are staying near Spanish steps book a seat. Staying somewhere else, book a seat.

“Il Gabriello”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

This restaurant was a GREAT find. We were seated promptly for our reservation. There were seven of us. The service was extraordinary. While we placed our orders with one server, it seemed like all of them accepted the responsibility of seeing that all the tables were looked after. The food was excellent. Diners should be aware of the raw fish antipasto. It was all raw shrimp and langoustino. I ate it, and it was delicious, but that first bite was a challenge. The antipasti portions were quite large, and we shared quite a few. I'd happily go there again. Everything we ate was delicious.

“overrated”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013 via mobile

We love food and wine but why this restaurant full of tourists and practically no Italians is rated that high is a riddle for us. On the positive side - lovely ambience in a cellar. The service is efficient but without any warmth. You are treated for what you are - a tourist. Probably only there once. The food - very average. The tomatoes in the salad not even ripe, the veal tough and from the cheapest cut. Oldfashioned cuisine. You can eat better in any average true Italian restaurant where the Italians go.
