Owner description: We arrange private and group tours of the Vatican, Rome and Italy. One of our specializations is getting to the Sistine Chapel ahead of the crowds or being there when no one else in the Vatican! Our office is very close to the Vatican - that is where we meet for our Vatican tours, not in or outside a bar or on the steps opposite the entrance to the Vatican museums. You can book tours directly online and get discount on 2nd and 3rd tours with us. Our tours are the best, our guides are the best and we aim to give the best service there is in Italy.Last year we opened an office close to the Colosseum and now in July 2013 we have opened one in Florence as well - we are not just voices on the phone, we are real people here to help you get the best out of your visit to Italy.

“1 Way To Make It Better”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

We had a great tour of the Vatican grounds, museum, Sistine Chapel, and hand off to St. Peter's Basilica / sqaure. Enza is native to Rome and was able to bring a lot of color and depth to what we would have missed on our own. Plus, with a semi-private tour you by pass many of the queues. The only thing that would have made it better would have been if we made our 8A start versus going at 10:45A. The late start is our fault, not Italy with Us. The tour was 1 of the highlights of our 6 days in Italy (Venice and Rome) and probably would have been that much better had we missed the crowds with an 8A start. Thank you Helen, Enza, and Italy with us!

“Did Colosseum and Vatican - worth the queue jumping”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

At first was hesitant to fork out the extra money (40 Euro for the Vatican and 55 Euro for the Underground Colosseum) tours but it was worth it hearing folks wait up to 2.5 hrs in line to get in.

Vatican - The tour guide was OK providing some good insight to all aspects of the gardens, museum, Sistine Chapel and St Peters. To give her credit the group was a wide range of internationals and likely tough to do. Skipping the lines was the best part but at times you were a bit rushed through things to meet the tour length. For the casual observer well worth it (IMHO - if you are a serious history or art lover skip the tour and buy the skip the line tickets so you can linger when and where you want. If you are tight on time or a casual observer the tour is worth ti.

Colosseum - This tour was well worth it as it took you underground below the main floor of the colosseum and then to the top floor (both not available to the general public). After this you move through Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum. Total tour length is about 2.5 hours. Our guide for this was Tibero and he was enthusiastic, professional and half entertainer half tour guide. Find out when he goes for the best. (added bonus - our tour was delayed by an hour and this company's office, based out of Ireland, is located right next to a great Irish pub. We got a free drink for the delay and used it on a nice Killkenny while watching some Football)

“One outstanding tour and one mediocre”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

These tours are all done with audio sets and receivers. We took an outstanding underground and top of the coliseum tour. These areas are unavailable to the general public, only tour groups. It was AMAZING! Our guide was one of the best we've ever had and we've had a good number of guides over the years. He was informative, witty, dramatic and thoughtful.
The following day we did a Vatican Museum tour with a guide from the same company who knew her info, but I think she must have been new. She had side conversations with others in our group, without letting the rest of us know what the question was. She really had trouble using her mike effectively, constantly turning away from it. AFTER we came out of the Sistine Chapel she spent a great deal of time explaining each panel to us. That info would have been nice BEFORE we went in - we would have known what to look for!
I use an audio set at work every day and have found that boom mikes (head sets) are by far the most effective. I would suggest this company invest in them. They're worth the money!

Norma I try to investigate reports before I reply - I hate standard replies that never answer the points raised but simply say contact our customer service address!!! You didn't answer the pm I sent you asking for further details but I will still try my best to make my reply as complete as possible.

We have an ancient Rome tour which include the dungeons and upper ring of the Colosseum nearly every day of the year - these areas are not open to the general public, they have to be booked well in advance. I am so glad you enjoyed this tour, it really is very interesting indeed.

With regards to your Vatican tour with us - I presume you were on an 8 am VIP tour and the whole purpose of this tour is to give people the opportunity to be in the Sistine Chapel with relatively few people. We head straight to the chapel and the vast majority on our tours are very happy that we do, The explanations are given after the first visit to the chapel and since you go to the Sistine for a second time to go through the back entrance to St Peter's you can always look at the walls and ceiling again with your newly acquired knowledge to help you.

The Vatican insist we use the headsets they provide - every company uses the same headsets and we have no choice in the matter. There is nothing we can do to improve the equipment but I must say we get very few complaints about it.

I presume the guide was talking to the other clients as you walked up to the Vatican - we have to get the headsets outside the museums, again we have no choice. It isn't that easy to talk to everyone as you are walking quickly. I am sorry you were not able to hear the conversation and will tell our guides to be aware of this problem.

“Brilliant, informative and fun!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013 via mobile

While walking toward the Colosseum we were approached by a lovely guy asking if we were interested in having a guided tour of the Roman Forum and the Colosseum. Thankfully we did and we spent over 2 hours with Cathy. She was brilliant, informative and passionate. She had a way of turning a very hot afternoon in Rome into a very interesting, bright one. Would recommend this company and guide to anyone. Linda and Ron. Melbourne Australia.

“Ancient Rome with Thomas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

One of the highlights to our trip to Rome in late May was the tour of Ancient Rome lead by Thomas from Edmonton. We have been on many tours in cities in Europe and North America and this one stands out for the knowledge, enthusiasm, ability to work with the crowds and added tips for enjoying the Rome experience. Thomas made Ancient Rome come alive for us and we won't forget Nero's bathtub anytime soon.
