“Would never stay anywhere else in Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2009

This was second time in Rome. We have 60's birthday parties in Rome. We had double rooms for 4 persons. What can i say ? We were fortunate enough to find this terrific small B&B in a wonderfully central location; B&B located a few metres away from the Spanish steps in a beautiful and quiet pedestrian street. The owner Bruno is a wonderful, like a good friend ! He told us everything what we have to know visit in Rome. Bruno arranged for us good places to celebrate birthday parties, especially birthday dinner in restaurant "La Buvette" in Via Vittoria was unforgettable: delicious food, nice atmosphere and elegant lady of the house Jasmin.

The accomodation was very nice and spotlessly clean. We love Rome. Next time we stay again in Domus Borgognona. Arrivederci Bruno !

“Rather like the Curate's Egg”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2009

I chose the Domus based on the sparkling reviews on Tripadvisor. The location can't be faulted: and at the price, €120 for a double room it is amazing value for money a few paces from the Spanish steps and Via Condotti. When Bruno emailed me offering to arrange an airport transfer I mistakenly assumed that it was a courtesy he provided. €100 later for the round trip I realised it wasn't!

The delightful young Canadian lady who met us and checked us in asked that we complete the breakfast pre order and leave it on the reception desk: she knew that our transfer to the airport was at 0700 as she did the arranging with the driver. When we left at 0700 there was still no sign of a breakfast tray: if it was a problem to provide one at that time I would rather be told.

All in all, great location but little else to recommend it: it promises but doesn't deliver!

“A little jem tucked away in the streets of Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2009

This is a wonderful little B&B located a few metres away from the Spanish steps in a beautiful and quiet pedestrian street. It has charming, romantic rooms and a fantastic breakfast served in the room. Everythings is brand new and sparkling clean and Bruno, the host, is a master of hospitality. The location is perfect and all the major tourist attractions can be reached on foot. I stayed there three nights and it was one of the cosiest weekends ever.

“Unforgettable, great place to stay.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2009

Stayed in Domus Borgognona in July 08 as family of 4 and 2 friends. The accomodation is 4 rooms finished to a very high standard with no communal areas, so it is like staying in a (posh) friend's home. The owner Bruno is a star - he meets and greets with a flourish, showing the property with obvious pride. He told us to call him if we had any needs day or night - and he really meant it! Arriving back from a day battling Roman crowds Bruno provided minibar drinks free and even took my son and I out for a pint at the local bar, footing the bill himself. The rooms themselves were comfortable, A/C (essential) worked well and needed a tutorial from Mr B to work all the functions. Because of the lack of communal areas breakfast is served to all in bed - a welcome luxury. In a city like Rome you do not expect to get the personal treatment, but here you are treated well. Finally the location is genuinely round the corner from the Spanish Steps so you can easily fulfill your latenight student boho acoustic guitar communal singing fantasies. Thanks again Bruno and sorry for the delay in the review.

“Good but only if you stay there....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2008

I agree with what everyone says, great location, reasonably priced minibar, helpful owner, however that only counts if you get to stay there.
The owner politely informed me that there was work to do in the bathroom of my room and that he could only get workers to start on the next last day of my stay.
For all of you reading...let's say that you have found a decent place in Rome, and someone tells you that we have a "problem' and that you may have to relocate on your next last day....but that we'll let you know the night before....and so you wonder....
and so they arranged (very hospitably), a place just down the street....and maybe it's not so bad you think....and it isn't...but it IS one step down from the Domus Borgognona...mini bar but not really, no wireless internet, no carpets, no room service in am......even the caretaker of the plaza espana (the relocation) said it wasn't the same quality and I guess it's ok...but then there's no refund either....???
So...you choose.,...
