Stayed in Domus Borgognona in July 08 as family of 4 and 2 friends. The accomodation is 4 rooms finished to a very high standard with no communal areas, so it is like staying in a (posh) friend's home. The owner Bruno is a star - he meets and greets with a flourish, showing the property with obvious pride. He told us to call him if we had any needs day or night - and he really meant it! Arriving back from a day battling Roman crowds Bruno provided minibar drinks free and even took my son and I out for a pint at the local bar, footing the bill himself. The rooms themselves were comfortable, A/C (essential) worked well and needed a tutorial from Mr B to work all the functions. Because of the lack of communal areas breakfast is served to all in bed - a welcome luxury. In a city like Rome you do not expect to get the personal treatment, but here you are treated well. Finally the location is genuinely round the corner from the Spanish Steps so you can easily fulfill your latenight student boho acoustic guitar communal singing fantasies. I agree with what everyone says, great location, reasonably priced minibar, helpful owner, however that only counts if you get to stay there.
The owner politely informed me that there was work to do in the bathroom of my room and that he could only get workers to start on the next last day of my stay.
For all of you reading...let's say that you have found a decent place in Rome, and someone tells you that we have a "problem' and that you may have to relocate on your next last day....but that we'll let you know the night before....and so you wonder....
and so they arranged (very hospitably), a place just down the street....and maybe it's not so bad you think....and it isn't...but it IS one step down from the Domus Borgognona...mini bar but not really, no wireless internet, no carpets, no room service in am......even the caretaker of the plaza espana (the relocation) said it wasn't the same quality and I guess it's ok...but then there's no refund either....???

Domus Borgognona is a jewel! This Bed and Breakfast is located in the premier shopping district of Rome near the historic Spanish Steps and within walking distance to rest of historic Rome. We had a family room, which consisted of two rooms and a shared bath. It was great since our children are young adults. The rooms are neat, clean and very tastefully decorated. From the moment we arrived in Rome, the management of Domus Borgognona attended to our every need. It is very important to them that you enjoy your stay in Rome and at their establishment. They went out of their way to even help us with the return of our rental car, book tours and with transportation to the airport. You feel like family. Loved it! I'd book a return visit without hesitation.

Domus Borgognona is an amazing place to stay in Rome - the rooms are simply awesome (we stayed in "Green") and well equipped. The owner and manager in one person is willing to help you with about everything,guest satisfaction is really #1 priority :-) Located at the Via Borgognona, one of the most elegant streets in Rome and just 50m from the Spanish Steps!

The breakfast is really good and served to your room at any time you pick plus there's a reasonably priced minibar in the room. If you want to stay in the very elegant and quiet place with great access to all the attractions, than this is the place!!!
