Decided to try this little trattoria on the advice of a travel guide. It was just off via nazionale in the Monti district! There are plenty of places to eat in the area and upon looking at it from the outside you'd be less than impressed but it was bustling inside. We had a 45 minute wait to be seated as we had no booking. There were plenty of other bars to have a drink in while we waited.
It was evident that the place was successful. There were plenty of italians, lots of chat and the atmosphere was really friendly. We decided to try one dish from all courses as they were all so tempting. I had some sort of bruschetta with melted cheese and Parma ham! It was delicious! My partner had the garlic bread and that was divine. We both had a grilled cheese option which they are famous for and we now know why. For the main course my partner had a steak accompanied with roasted potatoes and I had a mixed meat skewer and roasted peppers. It was all so tasty! We hadn't room for dessert. It was one of the few places we ate in Rome where we weren't forced to order a bottle of wine from a menu! We had a litre of the house red and it was superb. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and the best part was that it all only came to €57. The best bargain and most delicious meal we had in Rome.
