I and my wife visited Rome for the first time, so we did not know excatly what to expect. The whole stay was wonderful, I can recommend Rome for everybody. Party that is because of the city itself (beautiful city, you can walk from place to place, good food and wine, reasonable prices, good service), and partly because of this lovely hotel. It is in an old monastery in the Travestere. Good location, you can easily walk to Vatican and other sites, and the lively streets and restaurants of Travestere are close. I have travelled a lot and seen more hotels than one really needs, but I have to say that Donna Camilla Savelli is something different: the building is lovely and the service goes beyond the call of duty, especially the front disk service was wonderful. Breakfast was good and plenty. Two minor minuses, which should not scare anyone: 1) we did not have much of a view from the window because the window was quite high on the wall of the quite small room (no one comes to Rome to stay in the hotel room anyway...), 2) we did not see any sign outside suggesting that this is a hotel (luckily we came by taxi, as it was late in the evening). Maybe they just cannot put any hotel signs out there because it is a historical building, I don't know... This may be confusing if you try to find the hotel for the first time, the entry is bit tricky anyway, beware of the traffic.
