“Delightful find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2011

We recently spent four nights at this lovely hotel whilst on a short break to celebrate my husband's birthday. It is in an excellent location- near to both the train station, and within walking distance of some of the best sites Rome has to offer. The decor is modern, with some brilliant artwork on display, and spotlessly clean throughout. Our room was spacious, with welcome air-conditioning ( temperatures during the day were in the thirties), and a glorious wet-room- much appreciated after many hours out seeing the sights. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly- when we asked for recommendations for somewhere to eat, they directed us to a delightful, local family restaurant which we liked so much that we went back the following night. The Continental breakfast each morning was fresh and tasty, with more than enough variety to choose from. Next to the breakfast room there is a pretty little terraced area where we used to take a glass of wine in the evening, and just chill out listening to the sounds of the city around us, and watching the planes fly in to the airport. Very romantic!! The local area felt extremely safe, and there is a good selection of shops to browse around within a five minute walk. We really enjoyed our stay, and would recommend this hotel to all our family and friends- we would definitely stay there again if we should ever return to Rome.

Location is good. Easy access to Tuscolana train station, to travel to airport, or Metro Re di Roma, to travel to main train station.
Staff very friendly and helpful.

But...the room is a little small. It's decent and clean but I personally wouldn't rate the room for 4 star. It would be something between 3 and 4.

Breakfast choices were poor.

I guess this place is okay but I would try search some more next time I'm back to Rome.

The hotel was a bit far from the central areas in Rome. It was a 30 minute Speed walk from the hotel to the Collesium. But wonderful area with plenty of shops and places to eat in the area. Plus there are a few subway stops right around the corner and you can be to many places within 5 to 10 minutes.

I am a pretty light sleeper and did well during my stay here. The beds were ok but the comforters were very fluffy. They were doing a lot of renavating during mine and my friends stay so there was a lot of construction equipment around and people working. Not all areas were open. But it served our purpose of a nice, safe place to rest at the end of a long day.

I would recommend this hotel to friends.

the hotel is really nice, modern, bright and everything is ok about it, except the service - lack of the service is unbelievable!!!

the room doesn't have tea/coffee facilities!!!

there is "a bar" as well, but forget about getting a drink after 10pm - it's closed

I brought my mum to Rome for Mothers Day. She is a tea drinker all of the time, but we had a very very big problem to get a cup of tea at 10pm in and around the hotel - there was only one "restaurant" open beside the hotel, but people in the restaurant were absolutely arogant!!!

fortunately there was a maintenance guy in the hotel (still working!!!) who served tea for my mum and a bottle of lager for myself. How is it possible to get service in the four star hotel from maintenace guy?!!!

the room was very small, but the size wasn't a problem - there is no drawers or space to put your personal stuff away!!! the wordrobe is big enough to put only few clothes and it is not big enough for two people at all!!! also there is no door or curtain to the shower, so basically you are taking shower in the same room as person watching television - very strange and that's the first time I did come across with.

overall, the hotel wasn't very good choice for the price, Rome is gorgeous as an ancient city but absolutely arogant as a tourist city and I wouldn't go back - I've seen the most important ancient places and that's enough for me - Rome doesn't have hospitality at all!!!

Although another room was available, the first night they let as sleep in a room with obvious dump on the wall above our heads and so smelly we had to keep the window open all night!! The cleaning lady (very polite and helpful) told us that the room has always been that terrible and that they can't fix it. The man at the reception said that a small problem could have occurred and that they’ll fix it soon!!
On the second night they gave us a really nice room (TV not working though) but sometime at night (9 o'clock) another resident enter into with a door key and with his luggage on hand!
That guy at the reception told us that that could be the man to fix the TV!!
However the breakfast was good and it is a beautiful hotel but not at all money well spent.

Clean - modern - quiet with everything you need in a hotel. Unfortunately the rooms are very small - it’s almost got a cruise ship like layout (imagine a suite on a cruise ship). Very high ceilings so that helps. The furnishings and toilet are very upscale modern clean lines so its really cool looking hotel but again the rooms are small.

Breakfast was good and covered all the basics to ensure there is something for everyone. Great bread - cold meats - eggs - croissants and cake - cereals - jams - juices and coffee. Its basic though not high end hotel selection. The breakfast area is on the 3rd floor and it’s a really nice set up. The area has glass enclosure all around that gives it’s a nice atmosphere in the morning. You have access to large patio to either eat outside or enjoy your coffee. Its located on 3rd floor so its bright and full of fresh air with access to the outdoor patio.

The location of the hotel for being outside of the center of Rome is the biggest plus for this hotel when you factor two things - cost and being in a local neighbourhood that provides a glimpse into the everyday life of Romans. Being outside of the center you really feel like you are the only tourist walking around (which is really cool) You can take advantage of the pricing for restaurants - shopping and general items you would purchase - access to Pharmcy - foodmarket etc. Obviously being in the center of Rome would be more convenient from access to sites and Piazza but you pay dearly for it. This hotel is a 5 min walk to Di Roma Metro station. The cost for a three day pass is approx 15EUR. This metro stop is 3 stops to the main Terminal which is a main point to get to the subway line to the Coliseum or continue on this line 3-5 stops for other major attractions like the Spanish Steps and Fountain Trevi. It addition to the Metro pass you have access to all the buses which is a big plus getting around the centre of Rome. The center of Rome is huge and even though its great to walk its benefical and cost effective to have access to the enourmous amount of buses to just hop on on hop off to get off your feet and get accross town quickly to the other major sites. The walk to the Metro and to the Piazza of Di Roma (think of it as the downtown section to the neighbourhood you are staying in - lots of shopping and restaurants - just a great atmosphere when you are not sightseeing. Again nice neighbourhood and you feel safe walking at all hours but as any big city you need to be careful and use common sense but during the day and early evening there are too many people around to encounter issues. Late at night it gets very quiet - shops are closed (around 8pm other then some restaurants). We walked late at night from one of the Metros because it closed down at 9 pm and it took 20 mins to walk from the center of Rome perimeter to our hotel.

In closing if you are looking to reduce your costs and don't mind walking from the hotel to the metro or to the train station (different transportation to get to the airport - about a 10 min walk to the Tuscola station) then I highly recommend this place.

The staff was friendly - helpful but their English is not good.

Get a map - metro pass and you will be in good hands.

Enjoy!!
