“Really, really good, but . . . .”
We first ate here two Sundays ago. It was wonderful! The orange and fennel dish was what you would hope for. Then I had tagliatelle with tuna, absolutely the best I ever had. My wife had the grilled shrimp, and she loved it. I had the cannoli, four cannoli about the diameter of a finger, and it was sensational. I am not exaggerating; I told my brother that the pasta with tuna was better than our mother's (which we both loved) and it was.
We ate there the following Wednesday, and the reaction was similar, though I didn't find the pasta with sardines quite so good.
Then we returned last Sunday, and something had changed. I had the pasta with tuna again, and it simply wasn't as good. The cannoli were made differently. Same delicious filling, but these were the normal large cannoli, not the small ones I had come to like so much. They were very good, but I was very disappointed in the pasta dish. It was as if they had changed cooks. It was acceptable, but not outstanding.
So I can say that at the very least it is good food, and if you are lucky it is exceptional.
