This hotel was right near the Trevi Fountain and the rooms were nice by European standards. Be AWARE THAT CABS CANNOT get to this hotel. You must walk some and if you get a bad driver you could walk way out of your way with luggage. Also, the phone nubmer that Expedia has listed is incorrect.

Ricardo at the front desk at night is GREAT and ask him about where the best Gelato can be found. We stayed to nights, but it wasn't all great.

What to watch out for:
Room 504 - The electronic key reader did not work properly. That meant the AC as well as the lights would not function. We reported it first thing when even the Porter had issues. Nothing was done to correct the issue. So at 11:00pm that night when we returned, we had no lights, no A/C and could not even get into the door. So as Ricardo set in our room with us for 30 minutes in the dark his comment was "electronico stupido".
The next morning Ricardo made sure we were given a new room. Rm 301. It was not as nicely decorated, but it was better than having no electricity. But of course the internet did not work in that room.

As to the "day" front desk person, he was usless and was not very helpful. And berated the Porter when he tried to explain the issue with the room key the second morning.

This was my first visit to Rome. And I loved it. The hotel was in such a great location. Close to all the action and sights and shopping. I could not have asked for more. Even though the location is in a very busy area right by the Trevi Fountain, the noise was very very minimal. I was impressed with the staff and the service. I would definately stay at this hotel again.

The hotel was nice. It was clean and new. I had two rooms which were both on the small side. The flat rate fee for movies and internet was a plus since I had my two teenagers and two younger children with me.
I thought the location was perfect for people who want to experience a the loud night life that tourist bring to Rome. Plenty of gelato, pizza within walking distance. A small convenience shop (for bottled water, snacks etc) is steps away.
My only disappointment was the front desk attendant who was thoroughly annoyed that I didn't have all our passports upon check in. I arrived at the hotel an hour before my luggage (a friend brought the luggage) and all the passports were in the luggage. He told me he couldn't believe that in America you can just check into a hotel with a driver's license and credit card. So, don't forget to have all guests passports in hand.

Not sure this is really 4 star quality. Room was quite small (but probably ok given centre of Rome), but decor of dark wood panelling made the room seem very dark. Lots of small things were annoying: lights not fixed properly to wall, one plug socket hanging off, shower leaked onto floor, all power was shut off at 10am on the last day (had to waste time getting them to turn it back on).

However, location is great, albeit noisy and in quite a tacky touristy area. Bed was big and comfy. Staff reasonably friendly and efficient although it took them 20 minutes to retrieve our bags when we stored them for a few hours on our final day.

Breakfast was standard fare, but had to wait for a table one day as the room is small.

Overall, we had a nice stay and its reasonable value for very central location but in my opinion not as great as other reviewers have indicated.

On a more general note for UK visitors, the poor exchange rate means this will be a very expensive weekend break or holiday!!
