My wife & I just returned from Rome, staying 4 nights at the Trevi... The location is fantastic. You are literally 30 meters from the fountain on a small street. Excellent location - many restaurants within easy walking distance ranging from gelatto shops (right across the street) to pizzerias to local restaurants to tourist restaurants. Metro is a short walk in Barbeni Piazza, but other than a ride to the Vatican, we were able to walk to everything from this location. There is not a better location...

From a room & hotel standard - it is a definite 4 star... hotel amenties are 3 star (no fitness center, no pool, etc.) - not atypical of a center city Europe boutique hotel...

We had a room on the second floor overlooking the street - the room was quiet with the window shut - some street noise with the window open - but you are in center city Rome... if you want quiet, you should be in the countryside! The room is large by European standards, and nicely renovated & furnished. It is air conditioned, although we did not use it - the heat works well also - with individual room controls. the room was very clean, and had all of the amenities in the room - internet accesss, room safe, two chairs, desk, flat screen TV, mini bar, etc. The bathroom is clean & modern, a little small - but very functional. Great towels, shampoo, toothbrush, etc... The only thing that wasn't very very nice was the bed - it was comfortable, & clean, but the bed & the bedspread were a little cheap compared to the rest of the furnishings... Don't get me wrong, it was comfortable & large- just not the 'plush' bed you would expect for the remainder of the room.

Breakfast is included in the rate - was typical European - meats, cheeses, breads, cakes - some fresh fruit, good coffee (ask them to make it from behind the bar!). There are around 20 seats in the breakfast room (which is bright & well decorated) - so around 9:30 on Sunday morning it was a little crowded... Better bet is to have breakfast delivered to the room... we did on Friday morning - what a cool indulgence - and it was free!

Staff was helpful... a little inexperienced - but directed us to the local info booth to buy the Roma cards, and directed us to two nice local restauarants- and to the local cab stand...

Book the room on one of the TripAdvisor sponsors - the rate is about 30% cheaper than the hotel web site. Overall - a good center city hotel, at a good price, in an unbeatable location - I'd recommend it!

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for the wales v Italy rugby weekend, along with 8 other friends. E-mail replies to my enqiries about the booking (made through Venere.com) suggested that this was an efficiently run establishment, and we were not disappointed in our expectations. Our rooms were comfortably and tastefully furnished - with spa bath in the en-suite. The prima colazione (in the basment breakfast room) was good. Staff were friendly and professional. As to location, it could not be better -within 100 metres of Fontana di Trevi along a pedestrianised street. In Welsh, I would describe it in one word -"ardderchog".

I stayed for 5 nights in this hotel and it was ok. I don't think that they deserve 4 *,maybe 3*.The internet wasn't working properly (in one day it didn't work about 10 hours and another day 12 hours) but they charge me for the whole day (24 h/8 euro). The breakfast it's basic.I didn't have a shower gel in the bathroom, but it had a jacuzzi. The location is the best quality of this hotel,on a walking street full of shops, cafes and ice creams, very close to Fontana di Trevi (1 min).

Before going to Rome, I've read on Tripadvisor that staff of the Boutique Hotel Trevi is unexperienced and they do not care about people. But this didn't stop me, because I couldn't imagine why guests would need their help so much. Now I know why.

Although this hotel is situated 20 meters from goargeous Fontana Trevi, my stay at the hotel was horrible. It was february and +8 degrees at daytime, about 0 at night. So it was cold outside and to my surprise inside hotel also. The staff showed unexperienced and not welcoming from the first minutes, but I didnt pay attention. I went up to the room. It was very, very small, the size of an elevator, I think, and in the room it was very cold. In the bathroom it was just freezing, because the heating thing (not sure about the word in english) was cold. So The climate-control on the wall in the showed +15 degrees in the room, I turned to 30 and fell asleep for 3 hours. When I woke up, the temperature in the room was just the same. I went down and told the staff - I am leaving to do sightseeng, please do smth, so that when I return I could live in that room. 7 hours later I came back. The temperature was the same. I called the night reception, they said - nothing to do. I asked to bring the heater, they didnt have one. Plus there was no extra quilt in the wardrobe. So I went to sleep all dressed - sweater dress, poncho - all my clothes. In the morning I wanted to take shower - I couldnt. I was still freezing in the bathroom.
I went to breakfast and caught their a woman, a manager and told her about my terrible night. She said - ah... room 406, I know, sorry. So that means that everybody knew about my problem and did NOTHING. That night was horrible. I felt like sleeping on a street, dressed and freezing. And that was, by the way, a 4 star hotel.
They just dont care about guests. The breakfast is also of poor quality. I wish I chose some other place to stay or slept on a street.
