As with another review we were concerned about what rooms we would be given having booked through 'TravelRepublic.co.uk'. We were given two first floor rooms, both with balconies. Spotlessly clean and the staff were helpful. We did have a problem with the air conditioning in the rooms not working - even after two attempts to have this fixed - didn't detract from our stay however.

Make use of the roof terrace, especially at night!

Breakfast is typical continental-style fair and the staff are polite and helpful.

The Metro line is only 8-10 minutes away and takes you straight into town.

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel if you want a pleasant quiet stay in Rome. We shall be staying here again!

We were returning from a cruise and had a day in Rome to see what we could... we wanted a place away from the mobs at Trevi Fountain, the Vatican, and the Colosseum. So, I booked this charming htel which is a residential area with a school. The rooms were nice and modern. A few tips: The key needs to be turned chip-side up to open the door. Then, insert the key in the slot on thewall next to the door once you are inside. You cannot turn on lights until then.

The phones had no buttons for the front desk and "0" did not work either. The staff was helpful. They ordered a taxi for us the night before and sure enough, a Mercedes was waiting at exactly 8 after we finished breakfast. The breakfast area is nice and the hotel is very clean. The decor is nice and they even allowed 12 noon check-in for us., The staff was nice and helpful to us.

The Metro was only a 5-7 minute walk. If you are wanting to go to the center of Rome, then take the Metro train from the Bologna station and go in the direction of Laurentina. Five stops into the ride is the Coloseo stop. The Coloseum is actually right outside the train station as you exit there. You can walk to the Trevi Fountain, the Palantine, the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon ...all from there. There is a GREAT ice cream place just to the left of the Pantheon exit on the corner called NICE ICE. The chocolate ice cream is awesome and NON-DAIRY. No milk. All chocolate. It was awesome. This place has won an international competition fr ice cream.

The breakfast starts at 7 am in the hotel. It is a good one. There is a breakfast room and a rooftop open seating area. Go up and take advantage of the rooftop if you can. The lift is small so dont expect more than three people at a time.

This hotel is not in the center of Rome nor close to any tourist spots. However, it is close to the metro, bus and tram (4-7 min walking) which make it easy to access any site.
The hotel is in a residential and quiet area which is good when you come back from the busy city center.
The room are ok. The first night, we had a room with two single beds that were not comfortable at all. The next day when we complained, they did their best to move us to a smaller room but with a double bed. The decoration of the rooms and the hotel is a bit old and therefore not very nice.
The TV channels are only in Italian and are local channels that are boring for foreigners.
The staff speaks good english and can book museums or restaurants for you.
The breakfast is only ok. You drink in plastic glasses fluo orange juice, the industrial pastries are not a success and the breakfast staff can be quite rude.
I would recommend this hotel only if you have a good price because even if this is a good hotel, it needs several improvements.

A really lovely hotel. Stayed here for 3 nights at the end of October. Arrived soaking wet following an autumn downpour, but the concierge didn't bat an eyelid and made us sit straight down.

Very friendly and helpful staff, and the room was beautiful, with a terrace, and huge shower. Was a bit nervous about getting a good room, after reading some of the reviews on this site, but we had no problem at all.

It was a wonderfully quiet and leafy part of the city, with very quick links by Metro into the centre.

The breakfast was just fine - plenty of fresh fruit, meats & cheese, pastries - a typical continental breakfast.

Would definitely recommend this hotel, and intend to stay there next time we visit Rome.

we stayed in the double non-refundable suite and were given a basement room. at first, we thought this would be horrible, however, it was very decent (size, cleanliness, etc), especially since we were only there to sleep.
there were a few issues with the room, namely the phone didn't work (staff didn't endeavour to fix it - they just said that we could use the main reception phone), and the shower leaked all over the floor.
the place was out of the way, but there are two buses that take you to the termini main train station within 10 - 15 minutes - we came home one night after midnight and it was completely safe.
the hotel is very quiet - especially in the beginning of october, and there's never anyone hanging around the bar.
the night shift guy was great and kept us happy and entertained and the bar is stocked well.
the grounds are gorgeous and the continental breakfast was lovely.
i would stay there again.

p.s. the hotel soaps (shampoo, bodywash, etc.) are great quality, although the fig smell wasn't for me.
