“beautiful hotel and great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2011

The hotel is situated in a very beautiful place. The beach is clean and groomed. Rooms are very comfortable. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Breakfasts are rich in fruit and baking. A perfect place for a quiet, peaceful holiday. looking forward to coming back.

This is one of a number of hotels perched on the cliffs above the beaches to the north of Gaeta. We stayed for one night while waiting for a ferry to Ponza. The hotel was built some time ago and still had that "older" feel, though most of the rooms have balconies with good views of the sea. There is a comfortable bar with wifi, and a pretty terrace for drinks. However, it was nice rather than great, and so for the price it seemed rather expensive for what it was to us.

The hotel is situated in a very picturesque bay, with all the rooms providing sea view. Be ready to climb numerous steps from your room to the beach and especially back.
The rooms are very small and simple, with quite old furniture and too soft beds. The bathroom is tiny and quite dark. The balcony is nice, worth spending some time there looking at the sea etc..
The beach is nice, consists of artificial terraces, but is surrounded by the mountains and thus you can't enjoy sun too long. The twilight comes at 18.00. The beach is closed after 19.00 - that's disappointing if you like beach by night. The water is very clean and shallow but not too calm. You can literally walk in sea till the nearest beach of the Summit hotel.
The main disappointment was food in the hotel. The menu for breakfast is really poor, especially for a 4-star hotel (no omelette, no juices, the pastry is not fresh). For lunch you can visit the beach bar with very high prices - almost nothing is cheaper than 15 euro. And try not to stay in this hotel for dinner - again high prices, small portions, grilled dishes seem to be cooked at lunch and just a bit warmed up for dinner. You'd better have dinner in Gaeta or Sperlonga.
The hotel as a whole is very calm, absolutely silent at night. Not too many foreign tourists, mostly Italian guests.
The hotel is quite far from both towns (around 5 km), so it is easier to rent a car to have the possibslity to exit. Take a chance to have a look at Gaeta, ecpecially the old town and Montagna Spaccata - beatiful!

I stayed here with my girlfriend and thought it was a beautifully designed hotel, with a great private beach. Worth getting a bed on the rock ledge to the right of the beach as the water can get a little dirty towards the central area of the cove.

Also, the food was not that great, even though it is cooked on-the-spot. We had octopus that was a little slimey and sausages that were too salty; it was also very expensive.

Apart from the above, it is a great hotel. Great staff, wonderful design, great room air conditioning, and a great view (if you get the right room!).

We thought we were going to be too far away from Gaeta town but it was a doddle getting there by car. The staff were fantastic, very helpful, courteous and couldn't do enough to please.

The room we had was magnificent and the view breathtaking.

We will definitely be going there again. We highly recommend it.
