Our group of ten stopped at Il Principe for lunch on a rainy day last Sept (2013). The owner helped us park right in front of the restaurant and then re-arranged the tables so that we could eat outside and stay dry. What a delightful lunch! The owner and wait staff were very attentive and the food arrived in good time. I had fish and fresh vegetables while my husband enjoyed a pasta selection - both excellent. For dessert I had a "volcano" - very decadent. The inside of the restaurant is full of "treasures" and recipe books. The owner explained how the frescos at Pompeii allowed historians to trace the roots of various recipes and ingredients thereby confirming the influence of many different cultures on the the culinary life of Pompeii. A fascinating gentleman, the owner then helped us identify some of the hidden highlights of Pompeii before we set off to explore the ruins. A great find!
