“A Great Place in Pompeii”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2014

We stayed here because of location: next to the train station and a easy walk, no, stroll, to the ruins. The hotel is simple to get to from Naples, and you can use it to explore the Almafi coast or the volcano. The hotel was a good value. Some rooms smell of smoke. We pointed it out, and quickly remedied the situation. The staff was exceedingly friendly and courteous. They told us where to go, where to eat, and where the best gelato was to be had. They were right. The rooms were reasonable for the rate. They were comfortable and the wifi was free and easy to access. The bathroom was spacious, as was the room we had. There are no views: it is an urban hotel across from the train station. However, it was quiet and clean.

This hotel was a HUGE disappointment;on the site it looked very good with OK reviews. Arrival seemed promising as everyone was very friendly, the room though not big but did have 2 little balconies which was nice but it was all downhill from there.
*Power in room works via the key card which is good except it means that when you go out for dinner & want to cool down the room for sleeping it goes off. It was VERY VERY noisy so you could not sleep with it on.You cannot sleep with the windows open as it is opposite the station & on a corner of 2 fairly busy streets (think also of the scooters here.....)
*Breakfast was buffet but most things had run out by 8.30 & choice very poor. Yoghurt very out of date, another was mouldy inside which was very off putting. They would not assume ANY responsibility & blamed their supplier...... all rather worrying.
*As we had spent form opening time till closing at the Pompei site we were totally exhausted on 2nd night so decided to eat in hotel.BIG mistake. Firstly they brought nothing that we had ordered. When food finally arrived it was totally inedible. It was TOTALLY overpriced & disgusting but it was shrugged off when we complained.
*Bathroom was dreadful;not possible to shower as poor quality shower head really only suitable for rinsing your hair, however as the water pressure was non-existant it took 45 mins to get 8" of water in the bath & after 3 days I HAD to wash my hair & it took 20 mins of sitting in the freezing bath to rinse with the riddiculous shower head.We had 2 rooms, the other for our son & a friend & they had the same problem.
*Hotel recommended a restaurant for the first night that was shockingly bad......& we asked for somewhere that was good not being on a budget. it smelt of cat & the food was truly awful. On the 3rd night we went somewhere quite touristy & it was suprisingly good. Thankfully as by this time we had barely eaten & were starving.

Room Tip: Don't choose any room.......go somewhere else.

Came across this hotel by chance and were so pleased we did. The location was excellent - walking distance to the ruins, to restaurants and across a small piazza to the train!
We were able to park our car in front of the hotel where it was "guarded" by the staff while we visited Pompeii and Naples.
Our corner room had 2 balconies - one with a magnificent view of Mt Vesuvius.
Breakfast was varied and bountiful.
The front desk staff were very friendly and gave helpful recommendations for restaurants, etc. Thanks, Leah (spelling?)

Room Tip: Ask for the corner room with 2 balconies

The lobby is very nice, rooms are a bit small, but well kept and sufficient. Don't look out your window for a view though. The location is a very short walk to the beautiful basilica which is only viewable from one spot on the terrace, so that's a bit deceiving. Still, I would stay there again in a minute. Everyone was extremely friendly and assisted with luggage out of car without being asked. This was pleasant and breakfast was really good. I would say this staff was one of the best. If there was a pool it was hiding. There was a hot tub though we didn't use it.

Room Tip: Higher floor is always better. All are facing same direction.

This hotel felt like 4 stars from the moment we were greated at the curb and assisted with our bags. Very nice decor. Careful with the menu. "Scallops"are/is actually veal scaloppini. They weren't very understanding when I tried to explain the difference. To their defense it was listed under meat. Breakfast was pretty good.

We chose this hotel because of location (next to Pompeii Station) and star rating.
We were on a family break to see the ruins and surrounding area.
The hotel is clean and well staffed, the staff are polite and very helpful. The room was clean and well maintained during out stay, we only had a shower but that was very nice (old but good). Breakfast was the only meal we had each day in the hotel and was continental and OK. The ruins are a 10 minutes stroll from the door, and from the station you can reach either Naples or Sorrento in 30 minutes, as well as the other ruin sites.
Pompeii was by far the best town we visited, clean and great shops, lots of restaurant's, English menus, friendly staff.

I would recommend this hotel for a short stay in the area. The location is fantastic for easy access to archaeological sites and parking is free. There is internet and the roof terrace is lovely.
The only negative is the breakfast - which is pretty poor. You can get eggs and a cappuccino but you need to ask...
