We arrived from the airport, look out for motorway A3 exit, not much warning, turn left towards Pompei, pass the ruins, at the roundabout fork right, next roundabout in front of station turn left and see the church ahead but take the first left side street and there is hotel Diana, a haven in the bustle of the town, with car park behind the hotel beside the calm lemon grove seating area great for a drink and review of the days events. Straightforward budget hotel which we were delighted with and so relieved we chose to base ourselves here rather than Sorrento which was a nightmare drive and horrendously touristy. It perfectly did for us what we wanted, clean comfortable en suite room with decent sized comfortable bed, great breakfast, really helpful and welcoming staff. Easy walk to Amphtheatre entrance to the ruins, good local restaurants Garum just around the corner and Add'u Mimi in Via Roma en route to the ruins. We stayed 3 nights and would not go anywhere else another time (definitely not Sorrento for a meal by car).
