“great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

Very nice place, good food (slow food based, authentic products from the area) and a splendid selection of wine. The service was really great, very kind, personalized, they truly care about the individual preferences of their clients dedicating time and attention to make sure you're enjoying the food and wine. So different from all the touristic places in Pompeii, it is absolutely worth of taking a walk of few hundreds meters away from the center to reach Vincanto!
And the owner, Yuri, has very good advices on what to see in Naples as well, many thanks :)

“Excellent Service, Friendly Atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

We came to Vincanto on a Sunday evening, and the place didn't seem open, so we started to walk away, when the door opened. We were welcomed in by the owner, and offered a table. We were the only ones in the restaurant, and while I thought someone else will sure show up, no one did. So, we had the restaurant all to ourselves.
We ordered the cheese and meat platter to start, which featured a few different local cheeses paired with fruit preserves and jams. I recommend this platter as it's a nice sampler of local cheese, and you can then buy more of the one you like at the supermarket :)
Next we ordered a mushroom saltimbocca, which resembled a large flat-bread sandwich filled with cheese, different mushrooms and some seasonings. Very good and very big. Had we known that the saltimbocca was this big, we wouldn't have also ordered a tartuffo bruschetta. The truffle bruschetta was very truffly, so if you like truffles - I'd recommend this, and it was dripping with oil and cheese. Nom nom. We also ordered one of the local wines, but I can't now remember which one.
This place is more of a wine bar than a dinner place (i.e. most of the foods are dry, appetizer-like options), so the focus is more on the wines. I think this is important to note, as we didn't realize this when we came.
If you're ordering the bruschetta and saltimbocca (there are many different kind), I'd recommend ordering one first and then another if you're still hungry as they are quite big.
The service was impeccable, and the owner was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed, but also gave us space to dine in peace.
I would recommend this place.

“Lots of fun in Pompeii”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

This restaurant is nothing like any restaurant I ever visited? The owner Yuri told us that it is a wine and beer place with regional foods to match. He insisted we taste just about everything on his menu whether we ordered the dish or not. He sent us so much food on the house that we had trouble finishing despite the fact that it was all extremely tasty and unique. We drank three bottles of an extraordinary Lacrima Christi (we were 6 people) and could easily have drunk another. Everything went down so easily including the surprisingly light bill. Yuri is delightful. We would definitely come back to this restaurant again. Wonderful evening.

“Great place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2012

The restaurant is cozy and with friendly atmosphere. The owner is a kind and friendly young guy named Yuri. The food was excellent and the wine good (but don't drink the regular Aglianico Campania. That's just a cheap wine with no particular merit... much better is the Gragnano).
I highly advice it to couples and group of friends and wine lovers. You won't regret your choice!
