“Great hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014

We chose this hotel because of it's price and location to the Pompeii ruins. It couldn't have been any closer!! The staff were friendly and we had a very clean room with a nice view. I would go here again!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2014

My wife and I went to Pompei by a local train from Napoli, the station where we got off is called Villa Misteri, the nearest railway station to the Ruins of Pompei.
It was not something exciting to get off at this small station at 9 o’clock in the late evening at the beginning of February. There was no taxi waiting around, and almost nobody you could see except 3 or 5 local people who, like us two, just got off from the train which was gone away soon, leaving a vast silence behind it. We felt nothing but lonely and helpless at that dark, slight rainy and cold night.
Yes, for Pompei, it was low season of tourism.

Hotel Vittoria is quite near to the station and very easy to find. It took us 5 minutes to get there by walking with 2 large trolley cases.
It is a 4 storey building, all dark with a dim light out through the window of the ground floor. We feared that there was nobody inside and tried to push the bell on the gate, suddenly the ground floor glowed full of light. The door opened, and a little fat gentleman appeared and welcomed us into the marble-floored lobby. He spoke English, much better than most Roman people we had met before. I looked around the lobby and asked him if we were only customers of this night, he, with a professional smile, answered: Yes.
Getting to the first floor by elevator, when we entered our room, we felt much warmer than outside, very soon, my wife found an electric room heater was already on! After checked the warm water in the bath room, she told me, “Things seem to be much better than I thought. They have considered almost everything”
The next morning when I opened the French window, the rain stopped and the sunshine was everywhere already. I sat in the chair on the balcony and enjoyed myself with the fresh air until 7 o’clock.
When we walked in the dining room, what we saw is a white cloth-covered dining table with 2 chairs around. On the table, a whole set of breakfast was ready for us: slices of baguette in basket, chocolate-coated cakes, biscuits, sausages, eggs, oranges, fruit juice, milk, and so on.
What really surprised us is, when we sat down, a uniformed server with black suit and black cravat came to us and asked us softly in English:” Do you like to have some drinks? Coffee or tea?”
At this moment, my wife and I were really moved. We two were the only customers at the time of this large hotel of dozens of rooms, but they took every bit of responsibility that a hotel should take regardless of business cost. Facing only 2 customers, they forgot nothing, ignored nothing, and performed their duty perfectly.

What is this? This is the greatness of the hotel which can be called credit or trustfulness.
Yes, based on my fresh practical experience, I can tell you that this is a hotel you can trust and I will recommend this hotel to all my friends if they go and stay in Pompei!
One more thing to remember: this hotel is unbelievably near to one of the main gates of the Ruins of Pompei (Pompei Scavi): 2 minutes by walking!

May God bless you, Hotel Vittoria and all the staff!

We just spent 2 nights at Hotel Vittoria (2 adults, 2 kids aged 3 and 5). The location was perfect – right across the street from the ruins and a 5 minute walk (with small kids) from the Pompei Scavi train station. Daniela at the front desk was warm, welcoming and wonderful! She was a wealth of information about what to do in the area, where to go and how to get there and was really helpful in arranging our days (called ahead for us, made arrangements, etc.) Our hotel room was huge and clean, and breakfast was ready for us when we walked down the stairs in the morning. A perfect place to stay for families.

Excellent Service. Clean, Safe and Convenient. Building looks little bit old, but it is 200 years old, so you can't expect better. The hotel has been in business for 80 years. They are well located right near the Pompeii excavations main entrance. Very close to the Villa Dei Misteri train station. Best location for an overnight stay. We took the Circumvesuviana train in the morningl, dropped our bag at the hotel (it is very close) and went to see the Pompeii site. Came back at night after eating dinner in town. Excellent breakfast., The fruits were so fresh and nice looking, we thought they were plastic. They get their fresh fruits daily from the local sources. Next day, took the early morning train again to Sorrento. Very family friendly.

Room Tip: Take a room away from route SS18. It got little bit noisy at night.

Having visited the area before and returning with grown up family, our party consisyed of 8 adults. We knew how handy the hotel was for the ruins and with a large Carrefour supermarket just up the road easy for snacks and drinks. As we were going to use the circumvesuvius railway, that was also a consideration at its extremely close to the station. The hotel was very friendly and helpful even when we started exchanging rooms so we could all be together with the owner apologising as the air con wasnt on in the new rooms (which is a must in august). The hotel really is in the heart of it and has some nice balconies which enabled all 8 of our party to get together and play games on our balcony. Well worth the price of the hotel but we had mixed feelings about the restaurant (see seperate review) as we ate twice and only had a good meal and experience on the first night. Yes the hotel is old but its kept very clean and its sooooo handy for the area

It’s a short walk from the Circumvesuviana train station and conveniently located across from the entrance to the Pompeii Ruins. We enjoyed our stay; our large room, on the top floor, with a terrace facing the ruins was a plus. They served a good continental breakfast and the staff was very helpful too. It’s an easy straight walk into town for dinner at Zi' Caterina Restaurant and on the way back to the hotel you’ll find a pastry and gelato shop too. It was a pleasant way to see the ruins and spend the day and a night in Pompeii.

Room Tip: Room, on the top floor, with a terrace facing the ruins

My review is purely based on lunch and the service, as we didn't stay overnight.
We had just done the tour of the "ruins" and walked out very hot and hungry.
We were sat down immediately, and both the entree and main came very quickly, not to mention the drinks were fast as we were clearly thirsty!
The food was lovely, but the service was even better.
When the fruit came out, it was great and fresh.
Overall very happy. Thank you to the wonderful waiters.
