“A family run, honest motel with great value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2014

We found it on a website for camper users. As we wanted to visit Pompeii excavations all day long and needed a quiet place to spend the night, Villa dei Misteri turned out to be ideal, first of all thanks to its perfect location at just 300 m from the main entrance of the ruins.

What's more, when we arrived we got a warm but professional welcome along with lots of useful information about the area, additional must-see places and road network.

Open all year long, it also boasts reasonable rates and, specifically for camper users, alongside a wide parking area, also water supply as well as grey- and blackwaters discharge.

Highly useful services which make this motel a place to go back when in its neighbourhood.

I would not stay here again, everything could be considered ok, but the lady on reception was terrible, this is a few years ago, rude and lazy, the food was ok, It was summer time when we were there and the hotel was not even full, yet asking for a cof that you were paying for was like an act of war, being honest , I left wondering how they are staying open, but I think it is prob because they were the only hotel with a pool, not worth it give it a skip, In saying that , I found the owner lovely and the other staff on reception lovely, but how they did not notice the behaviour of this woman is beyond me,if you do stay here , don't eat here,it is not worth the money and there are actually plenty places to eat in town, also don't be fooled by location, all the places to stay in town are near the site and the bus station, there is a lovely hostel, food is great small pool and lovely atmosphere, I hope this helps anyone thinking of visiting, It is a lovely town and the site is amazing, def worth going just don't stay here,This was 2011,

This motel is steps from the train station and the entrance to Pompeii. The owners are helpful and nice. We stayed in room 28. The room was average size and clean, but very tired. The bed dipped so much that I had to take a pillow and lay it in the middle just to sleep. The breakfast was average.

We booked this hotel because of its amazing location. The staff added to our experience and made it a wonderful experience. Nothing was too much trouble. We travelled from Rome to see Herculaneum and Pompeii. We didn't want to be rushed and so booked this place. Breakfast was lovely. The swimming pool was brilliant for all of us. The local trains are good and very regular. I would definitely return to this hotel.

If you are thinking of staying near the Pompei excavation site, this is the place. It is a 6 minute walk from the Scavi entrance and the station, has a lovely pool which we used after wandering round the site, is perfectly located and the staff are very friendly and speak perfect English. The trains can take you straight to Herculaneum, Sorrento and Naples. There are numerous restaurants and snack bars a few minutes walk away, and the hotel restaurant is reasonably priced. The cost of a room was very reasonable and we enjoyed the stay very much and the view from the balcony was exceptional, on the left you can see the ruins, on the right the mountains and the bay of Naples, however there are always negatives, and the only ones we found were hard beds and a lack of English TV channels !! Neil from London.

Just spent 2 nights here with my family to see Pompeii and Napoli...great great great location!! 5 minutes from the gates of Pompeii, 15min walk to downtown, and 5 min to the train...
The outdoor pool is very nice, our kids swam mornings and evenings.
The front desk spoke english and were very attentive and helpful, even offering to print off google maps for our drive into Napoli.

The rooms and the breakfast were average but if you travel like we do, the room is only a place to sleep! We would definitely stay again...

Room Tip: get a room in the main hotel, 2 or 3rd floor, and make sure your AC is working!

We've just returned from a 9 night stay at the Villa dei Misteri where we were enjoyed a holiday filled with culture and sunshine. We opted for half board and enjoyed our supper eating good local produce and drinking delicious local red and white wines. The hotel is going through tough economic times as is the whole of this region of Italy - just take a walking visit through Naples......
The location of the hotel is first class with a 5 minute walk to the Circumvesuviana train line which serves the whole of the Amalfi coast - cheap fares - too. The town of Pompeii itself is a 15 minute walk with a good choice of restaurants - Il Principe and gelateria - Golden Age to recommend just two.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the second floor overlooking the swimming pool- excellent views from the balcony o...
