“Great location good value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2014 via mobile

Only steps away from one of the entrances to the ruins. Very welcoming staff and free parking provided across the street. Able to drive up to hotel entrance to offload bags. Room appears to have been renovated and was very comfortable.
Breakfast ok but not special.

We booked 2 double rooms and one was very spacious, the other quite small. We found the staff to be really friendly - nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was very clean and modern - the breakfast room was lovely- very bright and airy and the food simple, but adequate. The best thing about this hotel was the garden - beautiful lemon trees and greenery. We ate dinner in the garden restaurant which, although pricier than other meals we had had, was very good. Take mosquito spray if you are in the garden at dusk. The location is perfect if you are visiting the ruins of Pompeii- right outside. Tip- if arriving by train do not use Trenitalia. Take the Circumvesuviana line from Naples to Pompeii Santuario (there are 3 stations in Pompeii and this is the closest to the hotel).

Room Tip: We had a room with a sofa bed which was a lot larger than the usual double- we paid the same price s...

Based solely on tripadvisor reviews, we booked three nights in this little gem of a hotel and we were not disappointed. We requested a quiet, top floor room with a view of the mountain and that's precisely what we got. The room was very small (even by European standards) and quite dated, but it was very clean and quiet with comfortable beds. I can not find fault in the hotel for our choice, because we got what we asked for. Our travel companions had a newer, larger room, but we were content with our choice and I would imagine our room was probably on the short list for an upgrade.
That being said, this is a wonderful place to stay. Marieke at the front desk was very, very professional and so very helpful, sharing her valuable locals' knowledge whenever we needed. The hotel was undergoing some renovations while we were there, and the newer parts are very smart and nicely appointed. The back lawn and outdoor dining areas are beautifully tranquil. They also have a peaceful roof-top terrace where you can relax, have a drink and gaze at magnificent Mt. Vesuvius as the sun sets. The indoor dining room has a lovely conservatory which allows you to enjoy the outdoors, even when inside. They presented a tasty complimentary happy hour buffet each evening which was an unexpected treat.
And as for location... Walk out the front door, across the quiet street et voila! you are at the entrance to the Pompeii archeological site. Note: This is NOT the main entrance where hoards of tour buses dump thousands of tourists, the entrance lined with trashy touristo shops (there are a few stands on the road, but nothing like at the main entrance). I can't honestly say if there are large crowds at this entrance, because we entered at 14 30 and there was not a soul around. We walked up, got our tickets and walked in. Big bonus: There is a nice Carrefour market within walking distance.
Back to the hotel.... We highly recommend it! Enjoy!

Room Tip: Our "mountain view" room did have a view of a mountain, but not Vesuvius. They do have roo...

This hotel is perfect for visiting Pompeii, literally across the road to the other (quieter) entrance. However, our room was dated and it was next to reception which was very loud in the morning. The staff were not very mindful of their noise levels and woke us up on both mornings. It did look like they were renovating the hotel so maybe we just got an 'old' room, but this is not a 4 star hotel on an International basis, 3 star would be a fairer rating. They do have a lovely lemon garden where the restaurant is (good food), but dont forget your bug spray!

On a side note, there is not much to do in Pompei itself and two nights was more than enough for us. Next time we would probably just make a day trip of it and stay in a place with more to do and picturesque views on the Amalfi Coast.

Room Tip: Dont stay on the ground floor!

On the main street of modern Pompeii, this hotel is a small oasis of calm. Modern decor, wifi, sat TV, outside garden and free off road parking opposite the hotel. The place to stay when visiting the excavations (the amphitheatre entrance is opposite) the hotel.

My family of four stayed for one night in a quad room and it was exactly what we needed on our pass through the area to visit Pompeii. Room was clean w a small balcony, reasonable bathroom (nice towels, too!), and the front desk and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. After our long day of sightseeing, we had dinner in the restaurant, hoping for the best, and we were happily surprised with delicious ravioli and nice risotto - and very good value! Don't miss the garden for a drink - lovely citrus trees and grapevines in the shady terrace. A real oasis in the hubbub of this tourist town!
