“Highly recommended on the web....with good reason”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

This hotel comes highly recommended and with good reason. Clean rooms with a good bed. The building is very attractive inside and out and extremely well maintained. The price includes free parking which is a real plus. Walking distance from THE Pompei archeological park and the train station. The staff was very helpful. I was here with my wife and we both love being in Italy off season. It is like what travel was like forty or fifty years ago. Friendly and few tourists. Lots of places are closed but there are always some open. You just need to be a bit adventurous and not be embarrassed to ask.

Hotel Amleto is conveniently located a block from the major downtown streets of Pompeii. It is within walking distance of the two downtown railroad stations and also within easy walking distance from one of the entry gates of the ruins. Many restaurants of multiple varieties are also within blocks. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is well done. Their prices are competitive.

But the wonder of this small Inn is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Carmela, Maria Rosa and Elena treat their guests as family. They spread their good humor and kindness thru the lives of all who pass thru their portal.

Comfortable hotel with nice decor in rooms, not overly large but comfortable with fridge, TV, aircon, etc. Instead of a window we had patio doors leading onto a small balcony above a small terrace, which was overlooked by 2 other rooms, one containing the others in our family, nicely different and liked by us. Good sized bathrooms with a good sized shower and plenty of hot water when we used it. Breakfast was very good plenty of choice from the cold buffet selection and plenty of coffee on offer by staff. Reception was friendly and computer with wifi available in reception area. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant but we found plenty of choice in area and found two good ones close by. The hotel is close to Pompeii ruins no more than 5 mins same up to the Circumvesuviana train station that takes you to Herculaneum and Mt Vesuvius so i would recommend a stay in Pompeii. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The only small fault was it was a bit noisy outside until about midnight and the hotel is close to the beautiful square, there seemed to be some kind of festival on during our stay so probably not normal. Also would recommend a trip to enjoy the roof balcony for a night and day view over surrounding area and vesuvius in background. The bell tower is well worth a trip up as well only 2 euros to go up tickets from the church shop behind the tower. Finally thanks to the owner and staff for helping remove the splinter from our sons hand after our visit up Vesuvius, very much apprieciated

A very nice family owned hotel with friendly and extremely helpful staff. Tidy and clean, with comfortable average sized rooms (mine didn't face a street) with AC and a small balcony. Wifi exists but only in the reception/breakfast area. Breakfast (italian style) was good. Parking lots just outside the hotel. Lovely roof terrace from where you can see the slopes of Mount Vesuvius.

More or less one block from the Pompei main square and cathedral and only a short walk from one of the entrances to the Pompei ruins (a piece of advice: if you are looking to rent a guide to the ruins, walk the extra kilometer to the main entrance or you might be facing a "currently no guides are available").

I'd recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Pompei ruins.

Pompeii is the sort of place that you say .... "been there, seen the ruins, bought the T shirt". The visit to the ruins is fascinating but not sure I would go to Pompeii for anything else. The hotel is extremely close to the ruins and has parking available. The rooms are overdue for a refit (as is many parts of Italy) but is quiet and comfortable. We went up to the rooftop garden to watch the sunset and it was truely magnificent. Breakfasts were good and the staff were very helpful. The lift is small but servicable with all our luggage. If I had to go to Pompeii again, I would probably stay here again. Nice.

Room Tip: Go as high as possible.

All the amenities in a pleasant, small hotel. We stayed 6 nights (Pompeii and Naples need that!) and were more than pleased with our room, the service, the breakfast, and the price. A short walk to the amphitheatre entrance and to the (cheap) Circumvesuviana train to Herculaneum and Naples. Many good restaurants close by. We couldn't recommend it more. (OK the street noise at night took some getting used too, but it seemed nowhere in Pompeii would be better.)

Easy to find hotel, just a few minutes from train station (main Pompeii train station, not Pompeii scavii station.) Just a few minutes walk to Pompeii site. Ample breakfast. Very clean. Lovely communal areas.
