“Absolutely incredible experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2014

Like most of us, we didn't know what to expect on our first visit to Pompeii. But we got a hotel that scores highest in our books on all fronts. Tastefully decorated, super staff, great restaurant, wonderful rooms, and a shuttle to anything we needed downtown. Yes it is about a 10 minute walk to the town, but it is quiet and has a great view of Mt. Vesuvius. Special thanks to Ornella Gramaglia who was in charge of quality control and was always available to help with any need we had. She went out of her way to make our stay fabulous. Whether recommending a restaurant, sightseeing trip, or how to get the train back to Naples, she did it. Thanks so much for our special Wedding Anniversary cake! And, all the other staff was great too, front desk, restaurant, maid service, etc. Great attention to detail. See you again Hotel Pompeii Resort!

Quality of the hotel was much better than we expected.
We arrived on an early flight and didn't expect the room to be available when we got to the hotel but after a short wait, we were shown to our room.
Everything was fitted to a high standard and very clean.
The view from the balcony was great for watching the lightning in the evening.
Breakfast at the hotel was great if you liked pastries. The amount of people filling up their bags with them means they must be tasty but not my idea of breakfast.
Evenings meals were delicious. The menu was varied and presentation was perfect.
Could not fault the staff at all. They were all very polite and helpful.
My only fault with this hotel is the location. There are no restaurants nearby, so if you didn't want to eat at the hotel you had to drive or take a long walk.

I selected this hotel because of it's proximity to the ruins of the Roman city. We ended up checking in very late, but someone was there at the desk to check us in. The hotel is lovely, the room was very clean and comfortable and we had a small balcony. The breakfast the next morning was delicious, with lots of pastries and great Cappuccino. Italian breakfasts and coffee is different from American ideas, so there was cheese and salami plates next to the pastries and fruit. We arrived shortly before breakfast time ended, and the food was all still fresh, and nobody rushed us or started putting food away until we were done. It was wonderful. They did keep my passport at the front desk when I checked in, which was odd, and it was the only hotel we stayed at that did this. We drove to the ruins, and it was about a 15 minute drive. if you drive to the ruins, park in the Zeus Campground near the entrance.

My mother and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in June 2013.

Couldn't fault the hotel.. great location (a 15-20 minute walk to the Pompeii ruins, which was the main reason for us staying in Pompeii), lovely large rooms and friendly, helpful staff, which were very helpful when it came to assisting us with directions.

We ate breakfast every morning at the hotel. There was a selection of cereals, breads, fruit and loads of cakes. The only downfall to the breakfast and this hotel was that you were only allowed one hot drink per person... when I asked for another cup of tea, I was told that it would be charged to the room!

We would stay here again!

Room Tip: All rooms are in a great location overlooking the mountains.

Last November was our second stay in this hotel. Room and retaurant were fine. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was OK. We got even cheese, ham and fresh fruit in addition to the traditional italian cakes. The hotel and restaurant staff was very friendly.
It takes about 15 minutes walk from the railway station and to the entrance of the ruins.

We stayed in the Hotel Pompei Resort in October 2013 (15th - 22nd). The hotel is a distance from the train stations so be prepared for a 20 minute walk. It's only an issue on arrival day! Every other day we strolled into town looking at the shops etc. The hotel is definitely not a resort nor does it feel like one. But the service is excellent and could not be faulted. Hotel was very very clean, it is the cleanest property I've ever stayed in. Reception was efficient and very accommodating, I had one minor issue which was sorted out very quickly. WiFi is available and free of charge but I found the only good reception was in the hotel reception! We had breakfast in the hotel each morning, it consisted of, as other contributors have said cakes and warm coffee. A plate of cheese & ham did appear most mornings. Breakfasts were not very exciting but for me that's not a problem. We ate in the hotel on 3 evenings. Being a fussy eater I usually find it quite difficult in hotels but I found that the restaurant staff were very helpful and accommodating and I ate very well for these 3 days. But the A La Carte menu is not cheap but it is comparable to going to a nice restaurant in town. There is a set menu which is very reasonable but was very limited and full of foods I could not eat. The shuttle bus was something of an issue. It was usually available in the morning (prebooking essential) but not available for the remainder of the day. This I did find disconcerting. Bear this in mind if you have any forrm of mobility issue. On the whole we really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Pompei Resort and would return again. Fantastic trip!

This is an average 2 stars hotel, no idea why it is 4 start rated or called " resort". It is far from Pompeii city Centre so be prepared to walk 20mins to have a proper dinner or go to the ruins. The breakfast is terrible, cold coffee, a bunch of sliced cakes, orange juice 90% diluted in water and if you ask for a cappuccino they will charge you for that. The staff is friendly but clearly the poor management is evident. Fine dining? Where? A mediocre menu and nothing special. This hotel is a motorway stop for those travelling with their families and having a car. It is far from the train station and you will be walking on a bump road with your suitcase for 25 mins. There are other great hotels in the city centre for the same price, we had booked 5 nights but after two nights we moved to another hotel, what a change!

Room Tip: chose another hotel!!!
