Naples is a very busy place - and with the crazy streets full of people and the graffiti all over the buildings EVERYWHERE we were worried about the hotel and the area it may be in. We needn't have been - it was LOVELY!
There is a gate to be buzzed in to (so you have that nice bit of privacy) into a gorgeous courtyard where we had many a bottle of prosecco. The hotel is used for art exhibitions and you'll notice all over the walls are little art drawings and quirky images. Theres a small bar downstairs which is accessed by the reception - the receptionists were all very helpful and nice!
Our room was a decent size and was prefect for what we needed. Very modern feel to it. Nice bathroom. No view however but this wasnt an issue for us.
Breakfast was in a seperate building opposite the court yard which was actually a bit too hot - the air con could do with being on here. And if you go first thing in the morning the water for the coffee/tea was not hot at all (and i really cannot drink warm tea). This was disappointng.
The location was good - near the National Archeological museum and the metro - but just doing a city walk nearby was nice.

Oh dear, the last two reviewers were rather harsh on the hotel, probably also partly due to their dislike of the seemingly trashy Naples. Naples is one of those Italian cities (like Genova) that first appear very aged and seemingly down and out. It is actally a old diva with a glorious past and has actually been undergoing a slow rejuvenation over the past decade. If you take time to look beneath the surface of its 'wrinkled, dirty, and aged' surface, you will discover wondrous things that I guaratee will enrich your lives. The hotel Piazza Bellini lies at the heart of the old historic center of Naples. The Piazza Bellini itself is very lively, with good restaurants and cafes that absolutely fill with life after 7 pm. It also contain remnants from the old Greek (pre- Roman) wall of the city. Within steps of the square, you can find some of the best pizzaria and pasticceria of Naples. Within a 3 mile circumfrence of the square, you could find some of the best examples of Romanesque and Renaissance churches in Italy. The cloisters of the Santa Chiara church is breathtakingly beautiful. The refrectory of the Santa Ana church is a treasure in Renaissance paitings and inlaid woodwork. I could go on and on. The hotel, as one reviewer already appropriately notes, provides an oasis from the tumult. I was with my husband in a superior room (#103). We had plenty of room. A twin size bed was also already made, even though we did not need it. it appeared extremely clean and tastefully decorated. There were plenty of hooks and storage for our clothes and luggage. We were given complimentary cocktails, taken in the lovely garden that's alwys blessed with a cool wind. Breakfast was sufficient with everything from cold cuts to cereals to fresh ricotta cheese and breads. We drank several cappucini and latte machiatto for no extra charge. Bottled water in the mini bar was only charged at €1 a bottle. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The only complaint I would have is that the shower was very small and did not drain well.
Overall, Naples is definitely worth at least a day or two before heading off to Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast, if culture and history mean anything to you. The Hotel Piazzo Bellini provides great value and a fantastic base for your discovery of the city and its hidden treasures.

Room Tip: Pick up a Michelin Green Guide of Italy, which features a good walk around the Piazza Bellini and di...

Stayed for three nights with family. Area around hotel busy and noisy, young pub scene. Rooms quite small and decorated in modern style, white and bright. Breakfast reasonable compared with other hotels we have stayed in during Italy trip. Avoid staying in Naples if possible. City is dirty and seedy.

Room Tip: Don't stay in Naples.

This hotel is a welcome calming influence in the mayhem that is Naples! Set back from the road slightly, on entering the courtyard the manic pace of Naples is left behind. We booked directly through website and stayed in one of the rooms with a terrace. Room was clean and bright with black out curtains for night time.
Breakfast had lots of choice and was very good.

Room Tip: Booking direct through website meant we could have a terrace and were given free drinks and a free g...

Good location, however expensive if you go by car at 25 euro parking a day. Friendly staff, good modern rooms and amenities, breakfast good. Prices also surprisingly cheap, even the minibar. Naples isn't nice at all though, so have a purpose if staying here as better places to see in the region....
