“Friendliest hotel in Italy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2013

Fantastic hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was ample.
The location of the hotel is fantastic. Very close to Cappella Sansevera and the Archaeology Museum. There are lots of cafés, bookshops and it is also a short walk to the port area.
The rooms are large with wooden shutters to block out light and sound.
The TV had a good variety of programmes. The only downside to the room was that there was no shower curtain in the bathroom.
I definitely recommend this hotel and would have no hesitation staying there again.

The hotel was easy to find and close to the old city. The hotel is quirky and modern - and built against the old city wall. Brilliant! The room was large and quiet, the breakfasts good and the staff genuinely friendly and helpful. My partner was taken ill and the staff were extremely helpful. I've seen a lot of reviews saying that Naples/this area is 'dangerous' but I've felt more worried in Broadstairs on a Saturday night. I love Naples (this was our first visit). I want to visit again and if I do I'll stay at this hotel. Even though it's November, it felt like summer to us. (The hotel has aircon, which is obviously necessary in the 'real' summer.)

Your review is very precious to us and to all the tripadvisers those need to have a different point of view about our city, often mistreated.

Our staff is always at guests disposal and is ready to help in case of needs. It's a pleasure for us to know that in Your case we also manifested it.

By the way I really hope to welcome You again here, maybe in the summer time!

I booked this hotel on the basis of price and TripAdvisor reviews, and it definitely lived up to my expectations. Although I had slight misgivings about the location when I looked at a photograph of the street, the reality is that my friend and I (two female travellers) did not feel anxious about walking in the local area either during the day or in the evening. It's a vibrant, bustling street and there are always plenty of people around. Having said that, the hotel itself is set back from the road behind a courtyard so we found our room to be relatively quiet. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly without exception, and we found breakfasts more than adequate. A nice touch is the opportunity to make hot drinks in the kitchen at any time although, this being continental Europe, the emphasis is on coffee rather than tea. I had brought supplies of tea bags, but it's difficult to make a decent cup of tea in a tiny cappuccino cup! Our room - directly above the kitchen - was immaculately clean, and a separate sleeping area ensured that we could have some privacy - great when one of us wanted to go to bed and the other to watch TV. Another lovely thing was sitting out on the terrace in the mornings to eat breakfast. Nothing to fault really!

Loved the hotel and location. The street is a bit grubby but it felt authentic. It was evening when we arrived and I loved watching the hustle and bustle of people going about their business in the street below from our window. Naples is an intoxicating city. The hotel is well situated and felt safe. At no time, did we feel threatened by anyone during our stay. Our accommodation was on two levels and greatly appealed to our teenage children. It was clean and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was good. The only downside was that we breakfasted at 9am by which time there was hardly clean cutlery or crockery left. We had to wait around for a good five minutes for this to be provided. This hotel represented very good value for money and we would definitely use it again.

The hotel is just off the main shopping street in Naples, 5 minutes walk from the superb archaeological museum, 5 minutes walk from the start of the historic quarter (with the cathedral, san severo chapel, souterano) and 10 minutes walk from the metro which goes to the Garibaldi station (from which you can get a train to Herculaneum, Vesuvius, Pompei and Sorrento) and from the funicular up to Vomero (with spectacular views of Naples from the monastery). Inevitably, this means the location is noisy but shutting the windows helped a bit. The hotel itself has a real pop art vibe and is very quirky. There are lots of steps and the odd low doorway so the hotel is probably not suitable for anyone with mobility problems; however, staff are very willing to help with luggage. The 'room' we stayed in had a twin bedroom (with comfortable beds), a separate lounge/dressing area and a bathroom. The shower was very small (again, probably not suitable for anyone with mobility problems). The room had a hairdryer, a fridge and air con but no kettle, although there were tea and coffee making facilities available 24 hours a day. The room was kept exceptionally clean all week. Breakfast consisted of rolls, cheese, ham, jams and spreads, croissants, pastries, cereals, fruit, yoghurts, juices, tea and coffee and there was no limit on how much you could eat. The staff spoke good English and were very helpful in explaining the best way to travel to places. Overall, staying at the Correra was a really good experience and great value for the price. I would recommend the hotel to anyone and would stay there again if I ever go back to Naples.

Naples is a massive and fascinating city. If you are expecting something like Rome or Florence, you will be disappointed. It certainly has plenty of wonderful sights, amazing architecture and fantastic museums but it is much more than that. It is a lively, vibrant city full of character and bursting with life. This hotel is an absolute gem just off the main street of Toledo which runs from the top of the city to the sea. It is within easy walking distance of Dante and Montesanto stations. The rooms are big and have everything you need. There was a shower and bath available in the bathroom which was upstairs! Breakfast was good and was included in the price of the room which was very reasonable. The staff were wonderful, happy to help with advice and even printing off my boarding passes for my flight home. The hotel is a wonderful base to explore the region including Herculaneum, Pompeii and Sorrento. I would definitely return and am happy to recommend this great hotel to my friends.

Dear malcy63,

Thank You for the special review made on Tripadvisor about Your recent stay in Naples, at the Hotel Correra241.

It's always nice to accomodate travellers like You, Naples is a particular town and You have perfectly described our back-region, made of different architectural mixes, ethnies and habits, quite different from the other main Italian cities. You got the sense in a brilliant way and sharing Your experience on TA could just emphatize a good word of mouth to contrast the bad reputation that Naples usually has, without deserving it mostly.

Regarding the hotel I want to thank You for the nice words about the staff, the rooms and the building in general.

For any further visit please feel free to contact us, The whole Hotel Correra241 staff is at Your disposal.

Best regards,

Clean, friendly, well located and really excellent value. It's not luxurious and it's down a grubby alley, but it feels safe and welcoming. Breakfast is simple but more than enough. Staff are incredibly helpful. A family room was amazing value. Parking is really nearby. Glad we read the other reviews and chose to stay here. For the price it is excellent.
