“Truly an oasis, as others have noted”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2011

My husband and I and another couple spent three nights here in late May and found it a great choice. First, the location is great. It's a short walk to the Archeaological Museum (a must-see) and about a 20-30 minute stroll down to the waterfront. I'm not sure why others had trouble finding it; all of our cab drivers knew the area and got us there readily. It was helpful to know we had to ring a bell and walk through a courtyard, but that was part of the charm, and the garden and pool area are as advertised on the site and just lovely. It is indeed an oasis in an otherwise noisy and gritty city.

We liked staying in what felt like a local neighborhood -- easy to walk everywhere and perfectly safe, although we did take cabs at night. But there's a small square with a lively college crowd at night and two really excellent casual restaurants within two blocks of the hotel (great pizza and pasta). We were really happy we weren't at tourist central down at the waterfront.

We both had junior suites, which were fine but oddly laid out with a top floor bedroom/bathroom and downstairs "lounge area," which we never used. We did have a small balcony looking into the garden and that was very pleasant. Our friends overlooked the street and didn't like that as much, although said it wasn't noisy. The breakfast was excellent -- lots of choices -- and there was a pleasant sitting area in the garden for a quiet drink right before turning in each night. They had limencello and port, and other libations as well. The service was great and very helpful in arranging whatever you needed.

Naples itself is a unique place and while I'm not sure I'd return, I was glad we visited. We used it as our base for Pompei and Vesuvius, both of where were awesome, but especially Pompei. This is also a must-see; truly incredible and plan to devote 2-3 hours and get a guide! Makes a huge difference. We took the local train to both sites and found that really easy and more fun than getting a private car. And don't think of driving in Naples -- totally crazy!

All in all, we were very pleased with our choice and recommend it highly.

Room Tip: Try to get a room overlooking the internal garden

We enjoyed the hotel, the staff were lovely. But not in a hurry to go back to Naples.

Room Tip: More privacy on the upper floors

Getting to the hotel was quite an adventure with our driver going up against the traffic on a busy one-way street (by the second day we learned that it's the norm in Naples!). The location is close to everything, especially to the Archeological Museum which was the purpose of our stay. To get to the hotel itself, you have to go inside a courtyard which is nothing special, and because of it, you're really wowed once you reach the hotel's garden and the hotel itself. The public spaces are classy and elegant, and the free Wi-Fi worked great in rooms and public spaces. The staff treats all guests like VIPs, and the setup is great. Our rooms were top in comfort and in style, with French, floor ro ceilling windows, some had spiral staircases leading to sleeping lofts, others small private balconies. The breakfast was excellent, and I only wish we stayed there for more than one night. I am definetely coming back!

The hotel a former pallazzo , is situated within the UNESCO historic centre and within walking distance everywhere to all the strategic sites . Staff are attentive , the interiors lovely amd beautifully furnished - and despite being in the midst of busy traffic and myriad bars and restaurants, is extremely quiet once you enter its walls and courtyards.

We stayed in a junior suite with a balcony which was great if you are the 2 on the upstairs room but not if you are sleeping on the ground floor where you are exposed to the telephone calls of reception late at night/early morning as well as children running up and down the corridors early one morning. Try and avoid the rooms near the dining area.

Having said that, breakfast was terrific though the coffee was not up to Italian standards.

Try and walk everywhere in Naples - the architecture is magnificent. Or take the metro if you must - forget about buses and taxis [other than to and from the airport] it's much faster to walk .

We liked the hotel very much it was as advertised an "oasis in Naples". We liked the hotel very much and found the staff very helpful although we did have a considerable amount of trouble finding it due to the confusing one way system traffic system in Naples. The accommodations were very comfortable and the very best breakfast ( almost unheard of bacon and eggs) we had the entire trip. Perfect location for site seeing. But.... Naples is dirty, full of graffiti, congested and a little scary in the dark alleys. Its rather sad as the people are wonderful, but the city seems more than a bit down at the heals.

We booked two nights of our honeymoon trip in this hotel based on the reviews and because the suite was (and still is) advertised with a Jacuzzi. The first night we were told that the jacuzzi was not working. The morning after we were told that it was working but it had to be actioned by the reception so we had to call downstairs when we wanted to use it (yes, really!) This we did, to no effect apart from finding ourselves in our bathrobes exchanging conversations with staff coming to the room to ask whether the jacuzzi was working. In addition, we were given bathrobes only on the second day, there is not much hot water in the morning (we were said it is because 'everybody showers in the morning'), the bidet is not well fixed to the floor, the swimming pool is tiny, the hotel PC did not have internet connection on both days (the reception staff kindly let us use theirsbut wecould not print). We complained about the jacuzzi (a service we paid for) and hotel staff were apologetic but the hotel management ignored us. We were on our honeymoon so decided to not to spend the whole time complaining but our experience was very poor. I am Italian and have travelled to Naples for many years so I am aware that it requires a certain flexibility. But in my opinion there are no excuses for these situations when an hotel claims to be 4stars and charge premium prices for non available services. Avoid this hotel: if you want luxury, pick one on the seafront. If you want the central location (which is great), pick a less expensive one.

We stayed with a group of nine friends in lovely Constantinopoli. Beautiful rooms, charming garden with pool and very friendly and professional staff - we immediately felt at home. Owner Clelia introduced us to the city by booking us tables in the nicest restaurants and made sure we quickly found our way through the city and to the nicest shopping area with personal tips. She runs the place with such warm hospitality and elegance, we were all charmed by it. Breakfast outside when the whether allows it with great cappucino or inside enjoying the fine Italian style interior: this place is a true gem.
