“Amazing! musto go!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

The Palace seems like a little Verssailles. The City of Naples must inform more about it! This Palace was where the King of 2 Sicilias lived! a very important place for Italy and Europe. The Palace's administration must open the terrace ( after repair), and the other rooms that were not available ate the time, June 2013. I was born in Naples, and I was very impressed.

“A great Palace poorly managed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

Based on this palace's history, one would expect that it would live up to its rivals in other European cities such as Vienna. Despite its beauty inside, with amazing frescoes, wallpapers, works of art etc., the place looked very poorly managed. It was dusty all over, with little or no furnishings (mostly empty rooms really - I wonder where did all of the furniture go?), very apparent wear and tear everywhere and overall it looked at the brink of a slide to oblivion. It's a shame, it has such an amazing location with beautiful views, rich history of "tenants", beautiful architecture and decoration and yet it is being treated like a random villa or something. If this place was not in Naples, I am sure it would be treated as a real gem...

“Worth a Visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2013

Palazzo Reale is really worth a visit with only a few euro admission. We had visited Naples a few times in the past and we always neglected this palace. Thanks to Trip Advisors review, we did go in this time and agree that the palace is very beautiful.

“Fantastic value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

Grab an audio guide and wander past the bizzare empty cupboards/shelves to the most amazing staircase. Climb the stairs to see absolutely stunning rooms which you can wander in uninterrupted.

“Fabulous!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

There is not much to commend Naples as a tourist centre. Visitors mostly pass through on their way to Pompei. However, the Palazzo Reale, lifts the visitor from the unremittingly grim and grimy city into a superb attraction. In our guide book it is the number one visit and we would agree wholeheartedly. Aside from its wonderful commanding view of the Gulf of Naples and Mount Vesuvius, this huge palace simply oozes with the most wonderful decor, spanning three centuries or more, and a massive range of tapestries and pictures as good as many a dedicated art gallery. The Palazzo was hit by allied bombs a couple of times but the restoration is simply brilliant and stylish.

The audio guide comes free with the low entrance fee - only €4.50 when we visited - and adds an informative angle to the visit, really helping to bring it to life. Give yourself enough time to see it all, to linger and soak it all up. If you go nowhere else in Naples, visit the Palazzo Reale.
