I have stayed here three times now, and am about to return for a fourth visit. It is so conveniently situated - as others have mentioned - just 50m from the main railway station, but not at all noisy. It is close to the Piazza Garibaldi, the main square, where there are a couple of nice restaurants. It has much to recommend it.

Room Tip: I have twice had a single room which was good - and had the advantage of a small safe.

The hotel was nice, but unfortunatly I think we got one of the not so nice rooms at the back of the hotel, over looking a court yard. The breakfast was nice.
To get to the hotel you have to walk through a not so nice part of Naples from the bus station, we did not feel safe at nights, or even in the day for that matter - we were told a safer route by some other guests who felt the same about the walk.
We will not be re-visiting Naples as the city is over run with litter. Next time we will stay in Sorrento or Capri which are lovely and clean.

We chose this hotel for its location as we wanted to travel to Baia and Capua, we were not disappointed. It was so close to Naples Centrale station, we could easily get on the metro and regional trains. I noticed that other reviews mentioned the location being unsafe, whilst it is not a place where I would freely wander showing cameras and expensive jewels, Naples has cleaned its act much since a first visit a few years ago. Keep aware and you will have no issues. The hotel has helpful staff, rooms are clean and good value and the breakfast is very good, typical for the area.

Great value for money.

Dear guest,

thank you for writing your post on Tripadvisor.

It’s a pleasure to know that you had a so nice experience at our hotel. As mentioned in your comment, Grand Hotel Europa is the best point to start a visit of Naples and its surrounding region due to its adjacency to central station, underground stops and bus stops. We are happy that you appreciated the location as well as our kind staff and the rich and various breakfast.

We hope to see you back at our hotel as soon as possible. Warmest regards from a sunny Naples.

We chose this hotel for its location. And that was fine. Price was also cheap. We checked in and found we were upgraded to a suite. Well, that was a strange room set on 2 floors. Beds up a staircase while bathroom and one chair were on the lower floor. Really? No thanks at my age! Second room looked fine, but someone else was already in it! Third room was a dorm style with 3 beds, also fine for the 2 nights we were there. Beds were Mexican hard!!
Breakfast was included in our price. It is served in the basement restaurant. It was just okay. The waiters never cracked a smile. Sadly the restaurant had a smell that made me not very hungry. We also had dinner there on our arrival night and it was adequate, but not great. There really isn't any other place to go nearby.
Usually I say, I'd stay there again, but truly I would not. I'd find something elsewhere.

This is an excellent choice for one or two nights in Naples. The hotel is situated around the corner from Garibaldi station, where the Circumvesuviana trains leave for Herculaneum and Pompeii. The Alibus shuttle from the airport stops in Garibaldi square, about 50 metres from the staton entrance and perhaps 75 from the hotel. This is a very inexpensive way to reach the centre of Naples (3 euros if you buy your ticket at the tobacconist in the airport, 4 euros on the bus). The same bus goes on to the port for ferries to Sorrento, Capri etc.

Our room was fairly standard, looking out onto an inner courtyard, making it quiet. It was spotlessly clean with a recently refurbished bathroom (bath and shower). The basement restaurant provided a good 3-course meal for less than 20 euros per person with a drink. Receptionists were friendly and helpful, and the reception areas are beautifully appointed with lots of personal touches, so that it's just like being in someone's house. Free wifi was available in most areas, and it was great to have a fridge (minibar) in the room.

The only minus was the tinned fruit served at breakfast, a little disappointing in June in Italy.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the inner courtyard are quiet. The view isn't good, but you will not be spending m...

Dear guest,

Thank you for sending us your nice review through Tripadvisor!

We are happy that you had a such pleasant stay at our hotel. In a few lines you underlined the main characteristics of our hospitality: helpful staff, a good restaurant – offering typical Neapolitan dishes as well as international ones – and our original and unique furniture.
Furthermore Grand Hotel Europa has an ideal location to start a visit of Naples and its amazing surroundings.

We really do hope to welcoming you back at our hotel as soon as possible and meanwhile we remain with our warmest regards from Naples.

I have been at grand "hotel" europa for 3 nights, and they were 3 nights too many. I have paid for a room with bad air-conditioning, lousy free wi-fi access, and by access I mean you spend hours waiting to be connected and then when you finally are so lucky to get access you realise that the hotel has blocked access to youtube.

Breakfast was included
-horrible croissants
-no fruits, just canned fruit salad
-no cakes or any sweets: Naples is famous for its sweets!
-some ham and salami
-hard boiled eggs
-milk, coffee and juices

you can get an eccelent breakfast right outside the hotel for 2 euros.

The corridors smelled of cigarette and the level of cleanness was way below a three star hotel.

The price is excessive for the service they provide

Room Tip: Do not select a double room with twin beds.

We chose this hotel due to its vicinity of Naples' Main Station. So every trip to destinations like Herculaneum, Amalfi Coast, Capri etc. was easily and quickly accessible. Also the Airport bus stops nearby - it would be VERY hard to get there using your own car and finding a parking possibility. The hotel itself is very good, silent during night, clean, good breakfast, nice personnel... sometimes suffering from loud and partying school classes, though.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms to the main street, probably loud already early in the morning as it faces the Main Stat...
