“Despite the entrance, worth staying at.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

I read many reviews about this hotel before booking, and was prepared for the ugly entrance, fortunately, as I could then feel ok with the facilities it offers for a very affordable price in the centre of Naples. The only downside is the size of the shower area in the bathroom, just fitting in a thin person.
Very helpful people at reception.

Have just returned from very enjoyable 7 day trip to Hotel Europeo. Whilst entrance to the hotel is unusual, this only adds to it's character. Room provided exceptional value, and was very clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly, and readily provided help and guidance when asked. The hotel is well situated for transport to many of Naples sights, stations etc. Naples itself is fascinating, providing a real taste of Italy. Would recommend metro trip (from Montesanto) to harbour town of Pozzoulli, and onwards trip on ferry to Proschida. Also Solfatara at Pozzoulli. Would readily recommend visit to Hotel Europeo, for those looking for tidy accomodtion on a budget.

Very good hotel in the historic center of Naples. Interesting design of the hotel and rooms. You have enough space in the room to put your luggage and other things. Also you feel safe in the hotel and the district.

Room Tip: we chose a double room, not a small one

This hotel is situated at the 4th floor of a building. You have to press a buzzer and use a very small lift to arrive at the reception. We first thought it was an hostel but once in the room, you have private toilet with shower, soap and shampoo, AC, TV, fan and fridge (our wasn't working). Free wi-fi. Room and toilets were very clean. We had a room with a small balcony surrounding a very quite courtyard. The location is excellent : from there you can reach every spot to see in old Napoli by walk. We were pleasantly surprised as this was the cheapest hotel we had during our holiday. I would recommend it to budget travellers and would stay here again.
I liked : our nautical themed room, the value, free wi-fi

A pleasant surprise considering how inexpensive it was. The place was clean, comfortable, great location in Old Town a helpful and friendly staff. I found it to be a very good value for the money. It was shaky when I approached the place, thinking what have I done, but past that and you'll be happy. I'd stay there again and recommend it.

Room Tip: This is not a Holiday Inn or any other cookie cutter hotel. It's not fancy but I found it to be...

First of all: excellent location in old Naples, near Spaccanapoli! As a female travelling alone, I also felt safe on those neighbourhoods, comparing to railway station area... hotel is located behind locked gates and there is always (24/7) someone at reception to let you in. And secondly: this place is good value for money, you get all basic room amenities in very cheap price. Single room was really spacious for one person, but the sink was in the room, not in the toilet (which was like cramped closet).

There was only one negative side during my four-night stay: one of the reception guys does NOT speak (or understand) english very well. And when you have troubles with your room, it's going to be a problem! He was also really rude, obviously he wanted to avoid any contacts were he might have to speak some english. At first evening, my toilet didn't stop running water after flushing. I went reception and told my problem to this guy. Well... after a while (and some hand gesturing and repeating words "toilet" and "aqua") he understood, but he didn't bother to do anything: tomorrow, he said. I went to bed with earplugs and woke up in the middle of the night, when room phone rang. There was a new guy in reception who told that my neighbours couldn't get any water in their toilet! I explained the situation and this other fellow came and fixed my toilet, just like that! Overall, this is a good budget hotel, but in my honest opinion, everyone who got something to do with international customers and service really should speak -or at least understand, english!

If you are looking for a place to stay in Naples, take a look at this hotel. It is a central placed hotel, with all basic facilities for a good price. Near the "spaccanapoli" district and close to the university area. Externally not very good loking but inside you'll finde what you need for a good and friendly time.
