“Soulless but central!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2010

This is a very slightly tired place which aspires to be a luxury hotel. The location is superb if you are looking to travel around the region (Pompeii, Sorrento etc) as it is twenty yards from the station entrance; where you can catch trains, metro and buses. The square outside the hotel is hectic, noisy and dirty but the noise didn't bother us too much as we were on the fifth floor at the back of the hotel, overlooking the street behind, but with a view of Vesuvius in the distance. Room was not as cramped as some, the bathroom was okay although there was a leak in the plumbing behind the toilet (clean water thank god). SWhower tray didn't drain very well leaving you ankle deep in water. The minibar was only part stocked so I drew this to the reception's attention and it was restocked (I don't know whether they would have made a fuss and tried to charge me when I checked out or not). Bed very comfortable, breakfast (included) not as limited as some in Italy, there was hot scrambled egg and bacon/sausage as well as the usual cold meats and cheese. Soulless and impersonal but more than adequate as a base for exploring the area.

This hotel is a real find! Our room was quiet, spacious and very comfortable. Waking up to a view of Mt. Vesuvius was an amazing experience, and we thoroughly enjoyed the included breakfast. There were many delicious food choices, and the hotel wait staff was extremely attentive. The location of this hotel is so close to the Rail Termini that our train connections were wonderfully convenient. The Terminus Hotel is a great find for value conscious travelers who want to have a comfortable, pleasant hotel stay.

I was in this hotel just for one night because I was in Naples for business.
The hotel is very near to the train station and in 20 minutes walking you can reach Maschio Angioino or Piazza del Plebiscito: Naples city center) but the are where the hotel is located is not fine and, especially if you are alone, it is better not to walk nearby the hotel.
Maybe it is better to take a taxi also to reach or to come back from the city center if it is late in the evening.

The hall is very big and the reception staff was very kind even if quite blundering.

You can have some problems to reach your room because they are not weel identified at the ground floor: there are different lifters to reach different parts of the hotel and if you choose the wrong one you have to look for your room for some minutes!

Rooms are big and clean but bathroom is not painstaking: the structure is old and so the forniture in the bathroom!
Especially taps are not clean and full of limestone.
I think and I believe that a 4* hotel must have not only big and clean rooms but also perfects bathrooms!

Breakfast was ok, you can eat more or less everything you want.

As I said the hotel is very near to the train station so if you have to use "Circumvesuviana" to reach factories located near Naples the hotel is in the right position.

Maybe this hotel can be good if you travel for business for few days, I'm sure not if you travel for pleasure.

I feel bad saying this but Naples is a scary place to go to.
We ended up leaving early. If you plan on using the train-this is the hotel to stay at. Its right accross the street and easy to go to if you plan to go to Pompeii(which I loved). The staff is nice and the breakfast was OK. Location is horrible, other than wanting to be close to the train station. Not safe during night. Its about a 15 min bus ride to the castle. I will never go back to Naples......such a shame.

This hotel is in a very bad area, it is called Naples. We were afraid to venture out on our own. The trash and grafitti was unbelievable. My travel agent thought it was convenient because the train station is across the street. I prefer safety over convenience. If I had it to do all over again, I would stay far, far away from Naples.

  • Liked — The front desk was honest about the unsafe surroundings.
  • Disliked — The unsafe surroundings.

The hotel was very nice, clean and comfortable, good value. Breakfast was good, lots of options. The hotel is near the train station, so the area is not good. I wouldn't recommend spending a week here, but if you need a night or two near the train station, this is perfect.

There is a good, inexpensive local restaurant just down the block, Cucina Dei Mille. Most courses were around 4 euro, and the food was more than decent.

We stayed at this hotel on our 3 day trip to Naples, and the experience was ok enough. The hotel itself is clean, food was good, service great and overall a nice hotel. The location on the other hand was something else. The neighbourhood is not very nice, and would not recomend this for singel girls alone! It is right next to the train/metro station, and that is about it. There are very much traffic noise outside the hotell window, but I think that goes for anywhere you stay i the city center of Naples!
I dont think I would stay here again if I went to Naples, but mainly because of the location, not the hotel itself!
