“Business Hotel, not for tourists”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013

We stayed at this Hotel 3 Nights (Originally 4 Nights Booked) and changed to a different hotel, for a couple of reasons:
1. Hotel is in the Financial District , no Shops or Restaurant after 18.00 or on saturday/sundays
2. Distance to City Center about 1 hours walking or between 12-18 euros by Taxi, Hotel Shuttle only 4 Times per day (Return) - First come Basis (Bus has max. 8seats)
3. No Pool or swimming possibility anywhere nearby

Room Tip: Try to get a room with view to Vesuvi vulcano, the higher floor the better (Hotel has 18 floors)

Dear BAC 6815
Many thanks for your comments.
I’m sorry our Hotel didn’t meet your expectations.
Regarding the free shuttle bus, I wish to inform the readers that it runs 8 times per day (Sunday and bank holiday excluded) from/to railways station, city center and Capodichino international airport.
Our Hotel doesn’t have any swimming pool, and our District, although after 18.00 only the restaurant in front of the Hotel Is open, is highly appreciate by a lot of our Guests, that during the day, enjoy walking around and find a lot of cafeterias, bars, pizzeria and good value shops.
Thanks again and best regards

Great location if you like staying in the middle of an Industrial estate surrounded by run down developments. Plenty of litter in the street also. Transfers to hotel also awful and taxi fares down town seemed very high just to get back and forth to the city walls. Of course it must be said that Naples is not exactly the best city in Italy

Room Tip: Avoid this hotel and stay in the city if you must go to Naples (for the pizza)

Dear Stuart294265
Thank you for your comments.
I agree with you that the back of the Hotel, needs to be redeveloped, and we hope that the city authority, soon will take the due measures to do it.
The other side of the Hotel is quite different and appreciated by a lot of our Guests.
The city of the city is easily reachable, thanks to our free shuttle bus, that runs 8 times a day (Sunday and bank holiday excluded).
I hope to see you again at the Holiday Inn Naples, and I thank you once more for the time you spent with your review
Best regards. Bruno De Caria, General Manager

We (2 adults and 2 under 10 year olds) stayed here in a room with 2 double beds as we had an early flight the next day. Everything was clean, well maintained, staff were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was nice, albeit not cheapest around. Shuttle bus was handy so all in all no complaints. The part of Naples it was in looked pretty grim from the little we saw. We wouldn't want to stay more than 1-2 nights as not much around hotel and was all a bit sterile but ideal for an early flight and would stay here again in the same situation.

Dear Tonyofnapiernz,
Thank you for sharing your positive experience about your recent stay at the Holiday Inn Naples. I’m happy your family and you enjoyed our hotel and appreciated our family room and our free shuttle bus to the airport during your recent stay. I will for sure share with my team your good reviews about the staff because our aim is to constantly improve guest satisfaction, being the most important part of our job. Since we are located in one of Naples financial districts, the area is not so handy for sightseeing the city by walk but our free shuttle bus takes our guests to the city centre in less than 10 minutes where they can enjoy many tourist attractions and the wonderful views of Naples. Thanks to our proximity to the International Airport Capodichino, as you stated in your feedbacks, we are the best choice for an early flight. I look forward to welcoming your family and you again as soon as possible.
Best regards,
Bruno De Caria, General Manager

After reading so many negative reviews on here after we booked we weren't too sure what we had got ourselves in to.

Firstly, like others have said the back of the hotel doesn't look great and isn't really somewhere you'd want to walk around at night. However, the front looks lovely with a nice Italian next door and some lunch time snack bars. As the hotel is not in the centre of Naples, they provide a very reliable shuttle service everyday except Sunday (airport, hotel, city centre and train station). The drivers were lovely reliable and importantly it was completely free! We never had any issues.

The guys behind the desk were extremely helpful and informative- particularly when we wanted to know details about the trains to Pompeii. The rooms were fresh, clean and modern.

We dined in the hotels restaurant on our last night which was a very pleasant experience. The host was lovely with a great sense of humour and the food was delicious- try the mixed fish! Although quite pricey we felt it was worth it as the quality was definitely there.

It's location was never really an inconvenience for us and I would defiantly recommend the hotel.

We stayed here because we had an early flight out the next day. For that reason, the we were not expecting much, especially after reading the reviews. Fortunately, our experience was better than others. The 2 men at the front desk greeted us nicely. When I mentioned we were Priority members and asked about free WiFi, he asked what level we were. Since my husband wasn't there at the moment, I didn't know, so I asked him to look us up. He said he couldn't. So, I said, well then we must be GOLD. Can we have free wifi? Reluctantly, he gave it to us...thank you.
Our room was clean, air conditioning worked. Nothing spectacular, but fine.
Downside: Not much around the hotel in walking distance (or that you would want to walk to and from). We ate at the Italian place in the courtyard. Not very good at all, but good service.
We needed rides to and from the hotel to the airport and the cost was 25E from the Airport and 20E from the Hotel to Airport. Their shuttle doesn't run when you need it! Don't count on it for anything.

Realize why you are staying there and it isn't as bad as everyone said from our experience, thankfully.

Dear flymesr,
Thank you for your comment concerning your stay at the Holiday Inn Naples.
I’m happy you enjoyed your stay and that you had chosen our Hotel despite some negative comment. Your experience proves that only few negative comment, compared to the thousand and thousand of Guests that stay every year in our Hotel, cannot be a reference for the quality, that overall is appreciated by our Guests.
I’m sorry for what you reported regarding the internet access. Concerning the free shuttle bus, it runs, on scheduled plan, Monday to Saturday (bank holidays excluded) with 8 rides to/from the city center and 8 rides to/from the Airport. I’m sorry if at the time you needed the transfer it was not available.
Thanking you once more for your comments, I send you my best regards, hoping to see you again in our Hotel.

The location of this hotel is horrible. Just waste, ruins and building lots.
You just can escape taking a taxi.
It is far way from the city.
The hotel itself is old, quite ugly, not comparable to a normal Holiday Inn standard.
The breakfast in unbelievably bad. No juice (just diluted sweet nektar in plastic cups), very bad coffee (and this in Italy!) from an old and cheap machine, even the dolce are not good. Needless to say that you don´t get any warm dishes.

Don´t choose this hotel if you can avoid. You get better hotels in the center of Naples which do not cost more.

Dear xirxy,
I wish to thank you for sharing your experience in these pages.
I’m sorry to learn that in your opinion, there is nothing good in our Hotel.
I agree with you that the area in the back of the Hotel needs to be redeveloped, and we hope that the public administration, which is involved in this matter, soon will take the due action,
Our Hotel is one of the skyscrapers of the most important business district of Naples, and is 10/15 minutes far for the heart of the city. Taxi is not the only means of transport available, We have a free shuttle bus to the railway station, center of the city and international Capodichino Airport. Moreover a public bus line stop is in front of the Hotel and one Circumvesuviana subway station is at walking distance. Rooms have been recently refurbished (only few have to be completed) and the common areas have been all renovated in the last years.
Jumping on the breakfast, we usually have appreciation for it. For juices we rarely have complaint about the quality and regarding the hot drinks, like coffee, is possible to have them from our cafeteria instead of using the self service machine. About the warm dishes I’m so sorry to tell you that is not correct what you reported, since our Guests can enjoy scrambles eggs, scrambles eggs with bacon, bacon, mini sausages and mini wurtsel.
Thanking you once more for the time you spent to write your review, I send you my best regards.

The three of us who are sharing one room expected a regular size room but to our surprise we got a room which has another room inside which was great... Breakfast was average though and surrounding is far from interests ... Overall slightly above average
