“Excellent art work”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

This museum is like a little Uffizi, though, by the time we visited it (near the end of our time in italy), we were saturated with fine art and didn't fully appreciate it. Be very careful taking the public bus to the museum (I think it was Bus C). The bus is very crowded and nearly everyone on it stands; you are packed in like sardines. Some guys who initially came across as very friendly tried to pick my husband's pocket. After that experince, we took a taxi from the museum to the train station.

“Not to be missed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

This museum is located in a beautiful, picturesque Capodimonte Park, so make sure you will have enough time to take pictures. Also, make sure to wear comfortable shoes - it' a lot of walking, but it's worth it. Inside the museum you will find amazing collection of art and beautiful interiors of the palace.
Little disadvantage - not very friendly for non-italian speakers. All informations only in Italian and no English translations of books in the book store, so you have to research about the collections before going there.

“Knockout”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

This museum is situated in an idyllic palm infested oasis high up overlooking a busy city. The park is beautifully laid out and the natives use it for quiet recreational purposes i.e.walking, jogging etc. You need at least a whole day, maybe two but it is well worth the visit. The building itself is very 'bigpalace' grand and the exhibits are laid out on two main floors - lifts for the disabled. The top floor is mainly paintings and tapestries byt some of the finest Italian painters and sculptors to be found. The 1st floor has incredibly grand rooms with inlaid marble floors which have to be seen to be believed. The Sevre porcelain collection is impressive. A good cafe on the ground floor to catch your breath. If you are looking for anything printed in English - just anything - they are at pains to explain that there are no such publications - how amazing is that?

“Great collection!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

I'm an artist and thought this museum was exceptional! There is a full-size sketch by Michaelangelo displayed next to the painting that resulted. Especially good paintings by Bruegel, Caravaggio and Titian.
