“First time in Naples”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

My fiance and I arrived to B&B Museum in order to explore Naples and go to the Amalfi Coast. We had a limited time in Naples, and Marco was great at letting us know which areas to go to. Also, if we had any questions Marco was very helpful. The room and bathroom we stayed in were both clean, and we enjoyed breakfast! I would recommend this B&B for anyone looking for an affordable, clean, and comfortable B&B.

Our staying in this B&B was perfect! Marco welcomed us and gave us a proper tour of the city, giving tips for where to go and where to enjoy mostly Naples. The B&B is located next to a nice square full of many bars and restaurants.

Marco is the most energetic and jovial host. One who goes out of his way to be helpful, giving us Italian words to use, phone access, and the phone number for emergencies after a minor health scare, with an offer to call a doctor to come to the B&B.

The little B&B is so clean you could eat (well almost) off the floors. It was quiet, little exterior noise and no interior noise from fellow guests. Lots of hot water on instant demand. Breakfast was meat, cheese, and rolls, with croissants, sweet buns, juice, tea, and of course espresso type coffee. Intermittent WiFi for your laptop and an on site computer and Marco printed our boarding passes for us.

The marvelous, not to be missed, National Archaeology Museum is one block away, as were buses to the port and train station, and taxis. We easily walked to the port (25 minutes) and around old Naples from the B&B. About 10 minutes away towards the port, Ristorante Pizzeria Mattozzi on Piazza Carita has great pizza if you are rating those made in Italy, not American Pizza. However, we only found snack bars, sandwiches etc closer to the hotel.

The typical small (two persons with one carry-on ) sized elevator only went to 5th floor. Then a set of narrow, circular stairs up one more floor to the B&B on the 6th. Folks with some disability or heavy luggage beware. Although Marco graciously carried our luggage down to the elevator on our departure day. He’s a sweetheart.

Room Tip: We selected the less expensive "private, external bathroom" so needed to exit our room dow...

Location - Within expectation.
Easily accessible from metro station. Unfortunately, from the Napoli Centrale to the metro station (near the B&B) could be confusing.

The place - Within expectation.
The place is cozy and nice. The toilet is especially clean. A slight damper is the broken light in the toilet which made it very dark during shower. But this should be easy to fix.

Host - Within expectation.
Marco is a pleasant guy. His breakfast was excellent.

Amenities - Above expectation.
Near to the city center and great pizza places.

Return factor
Will return if there is chance.

On arrival Marco, the proprietor of B&B Museum, welcomed us with a cup of tea and an introduction to the city of Naples. He gave us a map with places of interest highlighted for us and made suggestions of local restaurants (which proved to be excellent).
We stayed 4 nights at B&B museum and were very happy with our room. Marco gave us a choice between 2 rooms, both looked lovely. Rooms had modern, stylish decor and were very spacious and comfortable.
Every morning Marco greeted us for breakfast and made us fresh cappuccinos. Breakfast was buffet style/continental with a good selection available. We usually had fruit juice, foccaccia, croissants and cakes. There was also cereal, cold meats & cheeses & bread on offer.

The location of the hotel was absolutely ideal for us. It was right by the Archaological museum and metro station which made it very convenient and easy to find. Via Tribunali and Porta Alba in the historic centre are both only a very short 5 minute walk away from the B&B.

All in all we enjoyed our stay very much. Marco was an excellent and friendly host with excellent local knowledge, suggestions and advice.
I wouldn't have wanted to stay anywhere else.
