Great place, loved the location, being able to swim every day, the view - it's a warm, nice place to stay and the price is really great. The shuttle into town is frequent and convenient. The furniture was not in the best condition, but all in all, we felt it was a great value.
However, the room you get can make or break your trip. Let me paint a picture for you. We booked an ocean view room with a balcony. We were brought to a room in the 700 block, which had an IKEA bamboo fence around the "patio" which was a small landing of astro-turf. NOT the tile balcony you see on the web site. Furthermore, our view was of a power line, and a big tree. It was hideous and I have to admit that I had a minor meltdown when we were shown our room. After I stopped crying, we went to the front desk and requested another room. I think they could tell I was upset, and they then put us on the 3rd floor. No balcony, but we had a spectacular view. It was perfect.
The moral of the story is - Do not stay in the 700 rooms - they are lower, and have ugly, ugly balconies and views. The hotel should charge a lot less for those rooms. Any ocean view room on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th floor is going to be great.
