The food and atmosphere was very good. The service was professional (the first time). We truly enjoyed our dinners. The first night was 140 euros, which included a 30 euro wine. The second meal was 143 euro, wine was 35 euros. Average pricing for this type of wine. Our meals consisted of shared Black Pasta with clams and cauliflower, main course - Red Snapper baked with Potatoes. This night we ordered the Caprice Salad as a result of a review on Trip Advisor that claimed this was the best mozzarella ever tasted! Well, sorry - don't waste your appetite. This was just an average salad, not necessary. We had much better mozzarella elsewhere. I rather use my calories on the pasta! The second meal was Spelt Raviolis with mussels and zucchini flowers and Risotto with pumpkin and cheese (we shared these). Main - Grilled Orata. All the food was very tasty. We found our first visit the one we should remember, but cannot get past what we experience the second time we went. As usual, we pay our bill on a credit card. But (same as in the US) we like to leave the tip in cash. We made our reservation with our server for the following date. When we arrived, they did not have us on their calendar. They said we were down for two days prior. We knew we made it for the specific date because it was our last night on Capri and we wanted to spend it at this restaurant. They found us a table after many minutes of decision and discussion. We ate our meal and left and I noticed there were still at least four tables for two empty. I felt they just prefer to "save" the nicer tables in case a regular arrives. But besides that, in hindsight, my husband remembered that when we left the first night, our waiter had our bill folder in his hand opened pointing at it with a questioning gesture. The more he thought about it, my husband did not see the cash in the folder. Was this waiter silently asking "where is my tip?" We left an 18% cash tip. We will never know if the cash made it to the waiter or "disappeared" along the way, but just by not having a confirmed table when we arrived the second night, it felt like it was either not enough or it disappeared. A lesson learned.....1) If you want to tip your server and are paying with a credit card add the tip to the credit card and let the money go where it goes (as it probably did this time), 2) Service can be great, but in many of the restaurants on Capri we noticed the tip was too important to the server and they did not hide how they felt about it. The only problem with this experience was that it ruined a perfectly good meal and what was to be our last memorable night on Capri. If you must go here, be aware. Enjoy the food, but only going once would be enough. A lesson is learned.
