“Amazing Boutique Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

My fiancé and I along with two friends stayed here in June for 3 nights. We were on our way to Positano for our wedding. Well as soon as we stepped into the elevator we knew we had made a great decision. When we walked into our room we were blown away. We have traveled all over the world and have stayed at some great places, but this was something special. Our only problem was we were spending seven nights in Positano after Sorrento and knew we were going to be disappointed ( we were ). The views, the room, the staff and the food were perfect!

Room Tip: There is no bad room here!

We stayed here as part of our mini-moon after our wedding. Both the hotel and staff were very trendy. The views from all parts of the hotel where spectacular- there was plenty of small areas around the hotel so you feel very special and don't see many other guests. The breakfast was amazing- ever little detail thought about. It was a long walk down to the harbour but a small price to pay for the amazing views. Would defiantly stay again.

I loved everything about this hotel. The view, the room, the breakfast, the design, the pool and of course the service. Very personal and with very good suggestions. The hotel is a destination by itself. If you are looking for big resort service don't go, if you look for peace and quiet in a high quality surrounding with a personal touch then this is the place for you. Everybody who worked there was very nice and helpful. They recommended the right restaurants (thanks again Floriana for your suggestion in Positano) and they answered every question with the best possible way. And they booked us airport transfers through a company called Aldo that has the most polite and helpful drivers I have ever met. We will be back for sure!

We are two 26 year old Americans traveling on our Honeymoon. After reading reviews on Trip Advisor we decided to splurge on Maison La Minervetta and couldn't have been more pleased with the decision. Staying here is like staying at a friend's beach house. Except your friend is really eager to help you out, make you a great breakfast, bring you drinks and snacks, and the beach house has the worlds greatest view on their deck.

There is something really cool about pulling up to the hotel at street level and looking down at the deck below. The only thing on street level is an entrance to the staircase and an entrance to the elevator. Everything else is below and built into the side of the cliff. What this means is that every single room has an unbelievable view out into the Bay of Naples with the coast line to the right and Vesuvius rising high across the bay.

The breakfast is nothing short of spectacular. Sure, you'll probably have a caprese salad for lunch or dinner but you might as well make your own in the morning since they always provide fresh cut tomatoes and some of the freshest and best Mozzerella you can imagine on the continental buffet each morning. There is an assortment of pastries and treats but for those who like a more protein rich breakfast, the two lovely ladies will make you any sort of eggs (or pancakes if the other assortment of cakes isn't enough) that you can think of. I had read in another review that it was difficult to get their attention but we found that if you stood anywhere near them they were very attentive.

One of our favorite parts of our trip was having our evening "apertivo" with on the deck at the hotel as the sun set. The nice gentleman will take your drink order and always pairs the drinks with the appropriate snack. Along with our wine, we receives many types of cheeses, crackers, nuts, olives, strawberries, cherries, etc... Though you pay for the drinks, the great snacks are free and are of far better quality than I've seen elsewhere.

I've read reviews complaining that the walk down the steps to Marina Grande was too long but we found it quite easy to handle and made the descent and subsequent ascent multiple times during our three day stay.

We really loved our trip to Italy and Maison La Minervetta may have been the highlight of the trip. I would insist that anyone traveling to Sorrento stay here as I believe it enhanced our honeymoon very much.

We just returned from a lovely 4 night stay at the Minervetta...perched on the cliff overlooking the bay of Naples and a direct view of mount Vesuvius so views are breathtaking. Location-wise it's a good 15-20 min walk from the station/bus stop, so not in the centre of town but that isn't a bad thing really as it feels peaceful and there is direct access (via 200 steps, so not suitable for anyone with mobility issues) from the hotel to the marina which has the best seafood restaurant in town. The room we had was immaculate, sizeable and decorated so stylishly. Definitely a place for those interested in interior design and architecture. The best thing about the room is the huge window which frames the amazing uninterrupted view - so dramatic. The hotel is beautifully put together with an eclectic collection of photography, art, local crafts, paintings, books etc all in a homey way. The solarium and terrace were elegant and comfortable too. Breakfast was lovely - fresh local produce, eggs cooked to order and all the patries you' d want to eat (I had to retrain myself!). The staff are super friendly and helpful. We got engaged during our trip there and I've already convinced my other half to returning after our wedding :)

From the moment you enter the elevator from the parking lot entrance, you sense this is going to be something very special. (And I wish I knew their secret for keeping those mirrors so clean).

Photos describe this place better than any words I could use. So check out the TA photos and any others you can find online. Even the hallways and staircases are works of creativity.

The staff is eminently gracious and helpful.

Never has a breakfast buffet been so tempting for the eyes and the tummy.

You won't want to leave.

We liked our 2 night stay. Really whimsical decor. Much more casual and laid back than most 4 stars in the area. Perhaps understaffed at times ( you'll have to struggle with your bags ). Really lovely tiny pool and many cozy lounging spots. Plan on a leisurely breakfast- while very good, the cook gets backed up with orders if the place is full. We loved the view, the sounds of frolicking children on the beach far below, and the soft church bells which stop ringing at a reasonable hour. All in all very good. We spent alot on taxis back and forth into the centre of town. Reception is perceptive regarding dining and touring recommendations. Parking lot is tiny. Very nice place if a tad expensive. Your room could be done in calm whites, or in very vivid blue. Fun minibar- try the small bottles of alcohol- free bitters, refreshing and SO Italian.
