“Maison La Minervetta just one word-WOW!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

We have just returned home from a four night stay at the fabulous Maison La Minervetta. And as the title of these words says, just one word-WOW! When we walked in , this is exactly what we said to each other. The photos we had seen do not do this place justice. A fabulous setting, a `Room with a view`-We stayed in room 2--all red and navy and white Ralph Lauren stripes... and fabulous personal style.Owner Marco de Luca`s collections of art, artworks,Taschen books, and nautical objets are colourful , eclectic and inspiring. Though the weather was mixed-sunshine and rain, we managed to spend two morning relaxing on the terrace reading. The breakfast was amazing , a vast selection of cereals/pastries/ham/crosissants/fruit and the great staff cooked eggs/bacon pancakes/omlettes to order. Nothing too much trouble from the staff, special mention to Floriana for everything-including writing down where various artefacts were purchased, and names of the CDs that were played so we could take a little of the Minervetta style home with us.The hotel are excellent at recommending where to go what to see and where to eat, and where else but Italy can you expect to see your taxi driver wearing cashmere and kissing you on both cheeks-it was lovely to meet brothers Aldo and Toni.
Loved the Minervetta and Sorrento and have rerturned inspired, relaxed and loving all things Italian!

Room Tip: Recommend the corner bedrooms-for double the `Room with a View experience.

Amazing, friendly and wonderful experience; I am so glad we found this place and were able to stay here. Located just outside of the main hustle of Sorrento, it is a quite location with a quick walk into the center of town. The views from every room are amazing and how can you not enjoy an amazing breakfast while looking out over the Bay of Naples. The staff was very friendly and accommodating in every way. We had to change rooms during our stay due to availability and the staff could not have made it easier both when we were making our booking and the day we had to change rooms. While the main lobby décor is defiantly not your normal hotel fare it was beautiful and always gives you something new to discover. It was large, comfortable and felt like home - even after spending the entire day in the hotel due to the torrential rains were encountered. Both rooms were spacious, comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was amazing with a huge assortment of items to choose from and made to order items for the asking. Each evening we enjoyed a nice serving of tea and cookies as we relaxed after a long day of touring. I hope to someday be back and will defiantly stay at Maison La Minervetta!

This was a wonderfully quirky hotel. Exceptionally friendly service, excellent breakfast and beautiful views. Our room was bright blue, red and white. As you walk in the room the far wall was a window which looked out to sea and down to the harbour in Sorento. From the Patton in the main hotel you could see mount versuvious in the distance. The main hotel room was filled with brightly coloured mediteranean sofas and chairs, piles of architectural books and a wide range of art. Staying at the hotel was an experience not too be missed.

When we did not see the Hotel from the street I thought we were in trouble, but then we took the mirrored elevator to the lobby floor and were transported to a land that many people never see. This beautifully simple yet magnificent Great Room of Italian colors with a bit of a nautical flavor was before my eyes. There was so much to see that I literally stopped in my tracks. The colors and art pieces just blew me away. The blues, corals, yellows etc. of the room opened up to full glass window/doors that pulled in the colors of the sea and sky. Together it was mesmurizing. Our room was another combination of nautical Italian beauty. The views were the kind you see in Vacation brochures of paradise. I loved staying at this hotel the only thing missing was a restaurant. If there was a cafe or eating establishment for dinner I would never have left the hotel. Breakfast was a fine combination of pastries, cheeses and meats typical Italian buffet breakfast. The staff made everything more enjoyable with pleasant conversation and attentiveness. Being on the side of a cliff has it's draw backs of course it was 279 steps down to the marina. Beautifully appointed gardens accompany those steps but 279 is a stretch for me. Overall this was truly a wonderful Hotel and I will never forget my vacation in Sorrento. I hope one day to take the Song lyrics to heart and "Return to Sorrento".

Room Tip: The view from any room is magnificent. The back of the hotel faces the sea which is why we picked t...

Stayed for three nights and had an amazing time, great location for trips to the Amalfi Coastline & Pompeii, Breakfast is to die for with an unbelievable range of foods. Most days we walked into town and enjoyed a wide range of Pizzeria's, traditional Italian and amazing Gelati shops. We have never tasted Gelati as good as on a bitterly cold night in the middle of winter where it froze harder once we walked outside the shop.

Room Tip: Everything about this hotel is perfect. An experience no to be missed

We have a 3-year-old son and stayed for a few days last August for our first holiday without him to recharge our batteries. Beautiful hotel, stunning views from the room. We could see the volcano erupting over the bay from our window, incredible.
Service excellent, I pre-booked a boat trip to Capri which they sorted out for us, they also recommended restaurants for our dinner every night, booked tables for us and showed us where we were going on a map. They have a deal with the Delfina restaurant by the sea whereby you can use their loungers and swim in the sea, which was beautiful. The hotel pool is also lovely and in an enchanted little garden overlooking the bay.
It really is an incredibly romantic hideaway this hotel, a real find. Go!
