“Beautiful hotel in Sorrento”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2014

We had the loveliest stay in this hotel last week.

Rooms - gorgeous decor, so luxurious and Italian. Super high ceilings, giant, comfortable bed and a jacuzzi bath tub.

Breakfast - was delicious. Freshly baked cakes and pastries, cured meats, cheeses and fruit platters.

Location - pretty much central to Sorrento. Walking distance of all the piazza's, restaurants, bars and train station. We did a day trip from here to Pompeii and Herculaneum, about 40 mins away and 12 euro return ticket.

This hotel is stunning, the communal sitting room areas are so beautifully decorated, as is the restaurant. The staff were so friendly and helpful, I would recommend this hotel in a second.

Thank you.

Incredibly good! Stayed here for two nights when going on a round trip in the Sorrento area. By far the best hotell (and we are normally spoiled with 4&5 star hotels). Servicelevel, rooms, decor, breakfast everything was of highest possible standard! We Will for sure return!

Palazzo Marziale is in a beautiful location and the food was amazing, but unfortunately for us the rest of the experience wasn't what we expected for our perfect wedding day. Firstly, on arrival, we didn't know where we were sitting and nobody cared to let us know, so us and our guests were hovering around not really sure on what we were supposed to be doing. Once we had guessed where we were sat, we noticed Paola, who did not acknowledge us and seemed to be giving our two year old son funny looks throughout the night. This was then confirmed when Paolo rudely spoke to the father of the bride, who was watching our son at the time, telling him that "it is a romantic setting and children should not be wondering around", bare in mind our son was never left unattended!! As i said the food was amazing but if you are booking a wedding reception be fully aware that they will continue to pour wine even after the wine included has run out! They may also provide wine for a 2 year old but charge you 5 euros for a juice. You may also be sharing your special day with other wedding parties, without being informed. We were fully aware that the venue was not exclusive to us but didn't think we would be hushed at our own wedding reception. It would have been nice to know that the bride would not be centre of attention on her special day, but would be sharing it with 2 other brides.
We would honestly have not complained if it wasn't for the way Paola spoke about our son, We just wanted to warn any other people with children that this is NOT the venue for you.

Palazzo Marziale is truly a gem! I have never seen such personal service in a hotel before. The hotel called the driver to make sure he picked us up from the train station and that everything was good. They also arranged a 8 hour private driving tour of the amalfi coast which we would highly recommend and hotel transfers from train station including a 2 hour tour of Pompeii with a private guide. The staff are fabulous. You are welcomed so warmly and personally acknowledged by any of the staff when entering a room or passing in the hall including cleaning and maintenance staff, waiters in the restaurant. Their attention to even the smallest details are impressive. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. The breakfast is fabulous. The owner of the hotel takes great pride and is in the kitchen with the chefs in the morning baking pastries and preparing the variety of foods served. Everyday is different. Breakfast not only included fresh fruit and croissants which you see at other hotels but a variety of cakes/ pastries, caprese salad, stuffed eggplant with ricotta, fritattas, fresh tomatoes, prosciutto and other meats etc. The owner spoke with us on the street for 20 min as we waited for our driver to pick us up to take us to the train. That is personal service and care!

Room Tip: quiet at night. We couldn't hear any noise from the street with the windows closed. I would say...

The food, service and location of this restaurant is exceptional we had the Chateaubriand between us which was the best ive had yet well worth a try.

This restaurant is located by the Cloisters and you have a perfect view of any weddings.

We loved our stay as the staff, building, decoration, food, and attention to detail was impeccable. Paola was lovely and went out of her way to help us with food allergies above and beyond what we've come across in Italy. Costanzo and Constantino were also highlights with their frindly amd charming manner and flawless service. The palazzo was beautiful and the location perfect. We only missed having access to an iron; we feel this service should be made available to all guests. We'll definitely be back.

We loved our stay at Palazzo Marziale. The best rooms we had on our whole 3 week trip in Italy. High ceilings, marble bathrooms and great staff. They upgraded our room since we had a child with us for a small daily surcharge. The the room was beautiful. Owner Paola was very nice as was the the lady who checked us in. Its also in the center of town of Sorrento and just across the street from the cliffs overlooking the ocean and the elevator down to port so super convenient for traveling to Capri on the ferries. They also arranged private car transportation to Rome from Sorrento, which was great, otherwise it would mean traveling by train into Naples and then to Rome. Naples is run down and awful, would not recommend it at all, but Sorrento is beautiful. We are for sure staying here again when we go to Sorrento. Breakfast was good too, with quiches and other non sweet stuff, I can't stand breakfast of sugary stuff that most hotels offer. Thank you Paola for a wonderful stay at your beautiful Hotel.
