our second time at this hotel and still so friendly.The new[since our first visit] roof terrace pool reinforces what a great place the roof terrace is to watch the world go by. As with many sorrento hotels, a sea view is essential as the view is so good and in the de la ville,the rear facing rooms are overlooked by flats and almost everyone in these rooms were not happy.As THOMSONS did not offer front facing rooms this year,i emailed the hotel and was allocated 5th floor front room-perfect-and at no extra cost.

We have just returned from a weeks holiday in Sorrento staying at the De La Ville. This hotel has to be one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in and cannot believe it is only 4 star rated. Our room was on the 5th floor and whilst the room was small it was more than compensated by a much larger than average balcony with views of Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and professional in their duties and the food was fantastic making this one of the most memorable holidays ever.

The hotels offers evening entertainment during the summer months, however not to be missed is the Gala Buffet. There are also two pools and sunbathing terraces to choose from.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to vist Sorrento and stay within easy reach of the town centre, and we will definately be returning in the future.

I can not recommend this hotel highly enough. All of the staff are excellent, the quality of the surroundings are first class, location is convenient and the food fantastic..!
The staff make the atmosphere of the hotel, both top quality and warm too.
Enzo & his quality team ensure that every meal time is enjoyable & professional. The food was varied, and delicious every day, we weren't tempted to eat out in Sorrento's restaurants even one night during our stay. Nothing is too much trouble & the waiters often prempt your requests for wine preferences etc once they get to know you.
The reception staff were equally accomodating. Due to a mistake by the tour operator, we were allocated the wrong room. The staff promptly found us a correct room, even though they were fully booked, and arranged for our bags to be moved while we were out for the day.
I have to say all the rooms were furnished with top quality furniture, and the comfiest beds I have ever slept on. I highly recommend sea-view rooms, sitting with a drink on the balcony as the sun went down was beautiful.
Having two pools was useful, but the top floor sun terrace with it's panoramic views & frequent firework displays over Sorrento & Naples made the hotel even more special.
I do not usually go back to a place once I have visited, but this could well be an exception. If only to see Enzo & his amazing team back in action.!

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Grand Hotel De la Ville where we celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversay and had a fantastic stay. We had a lovely room with a sea view facing Vesuvius and the Bay. The hotel was clean, relaxing and friendly. The food was superb and the staff in the restaurant and bar were great - very professional and welcoming. They made our visit a memorable one - hope to return one day.
