“great budget hotel close to train station”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

This is a good value hotel and it is only a block and a half from train station but you do not hear the trains. you can also catch the bus to Amalfi coast in front of the train station. it is a good location and within walking distance of everything. Breakfast is the normal cereal, yogurt, bread, juice, coffee, pastries. they also have a water machine so i usually fill up my water bottle before going out for the day. the eating area is nice and clean. I had a single room which was spacious enough for me and a window that opened to a little Piazza across the street. the room has a safe and great air conditioning along with great wifi that i could use in my room. Now for the bathroom. The shower is so small and there are no shelves to put your soap, shampoo... If you are a big person you will have a problem getting in and out and even turning around. if you put your hands on your hips your elbows will toutch the sides of the shower. I dropped my soap and had to get out of the shower to pick it up. However it is clean and the water pressure is good. The beds are pretty firm if not hard and the pillows are flat. they do have a nice big patio with comfortable furniture which was great to watch everything going on at the Piazza. when i was there they had a Harley Davidson rally at the piazza. it was a little noisy during the day but i didnt mind because i was not at the hotle much during the day and they closed down around 9:00 pm. it was fun to go look at the bikes and listen to the music and the last day they had fireworks. The man at the front desk during the day i think his name is alfonzo?? was nice. he is the manager. I would stay there again

The hotel is just a stone's throw away from the Sorrento railway station. I stayed there in the middle of August and rooms are generally overpriced in the city at that time. My window-less room was quite nice.

The younger gentleman manning the reception in the evenings is really nice and friendly, while the older man working during the day is unpleasant even to those who speak good Italian.

The breakfast is okay as well. I won't exactly call this my best hotel experience in Italy but I am satisfied.

Good place, good location. Nice staff. Quiet rooms available. Near the train station. Be sure to take the bus from the sirport in naples direct to Sorrento. Take the train to Pompei and the bus along the Amalfi coast. All near the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet toom in advance.

This is a good little hotel in a perfect location in the middle of Sorrento. Very clean modern rooms. I arrived in Sorrento without a hotel booking and they offered a cheaper price than similar hotels on the same street so very good value. Car and moped hire is avaliable from the hotel, or train station is a short walk. Security guard will let you in at night. Loved my stay at the Nice. Only problem if you rent a car the hotel does not have parking and it is difficult to find a parking space in Sorrento, and parking is expensive. There are some great places to drive around, the Amalfi coast road is stunning but too many tour buses! Drive to Napoli if you dare he he! Bravo Hotel Nice!

Room Tip: The rooms at the front may be a bit noisy but it is on the main street.

We stayed at this hotel for one night on the 28th August 2012. The location is extremely central, on the main road, a few minutes walk into the centre of town. The staff were welcoming and friendly and our room was large and clean with a TV, safe, plenty of towels, basic toiletries, hairdryer and air con,.there was a balcony with new rattan furniture . It was basic, but for a cheap centrally located hotel, you couldn't ask for anything more. Will always use this hotel when we visit for a night or two.

We stayed here over the Easter weekend and found the location to be perfect. On coming out of the train station with our heavy bags, we were pleased to actually see our hotel more or less straight ahead of us,which made getting buses and trains a very simple option for us! We were also on the main street which meant we were in walking distance to the main town/harbour, as well as had a brilliant view from the rooftop terrace of the Easter parades that went by. This is a basic hotel, so if you're after luxury pay more to stay elsewhere. However, saying this, one of the reasons I booked this hotel at this time of the year was for the rooftop terrace; thinking it would be too early to enjoy a pool but maybe warm enough to enjoy the evening sun. On the website it has a lovely picture of tables and chairs set up, which I thought would be nice in the Spring time. However, it actually had a couple of shabby chairs and some scaffolding being stored up there which was not an inviting place to want to sit at all. Maybe they had not set the rooftop terrace up being as it was early in the season, but still, it was not as advertised on their website, so beware! I never mangaged to access their wifi either. I'm not sure if I actaully had the correct password, as the guy at the front desk was not that forthcoming with telling me the password that I was never entirely sure of it! Breakfast was ok, but limited to just pastries, cereal, tea/coffee/juice! If you're looking for somewhere basic if staying on a budget but want a great location then this place is great, but if you want more, then pay more to stay elsewhere!

Other reviewers are absolutley "spot-on" . . . this establishiment is precisely as advertised. The rooms were great (even had an elevator for our top-floor accommodation), the breakfast was adequate, and the location could not have been better for us two-for-the-road travelers whose first visit to Italy was by train. One hundred steps from the train station, and you were checking in! Staff very friendly and helpful, doing their best to accommodate the lack of wi-fi and phone service from the room. Our back-side room (requested and received) was lovely for its view up the hills and down to the pretty back yard containing flowers and fruits. Such a NICE welcome to us for our first visit ever to Italy.

Room Tip: Definitely do request a back-side room. This hotel's marvelous location places it quite near a...
