“Fantastic Hotel Belair”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

My wife and I just spent a fantastic week at this wonderful hotel (22-29 Oct 2012). The staff are the nicest we've ever encountered. On my wife's birthday she was presented with a lovely cake with candle and the music night with pianist and tenor was one of the best nights entertainment we've enjoyed. The food, the location and most of all the staff absolutely first class. Our room (the basic double) had everything we needed (except kettle and coffee) with the most amazing view from the balcony straight across to Vesuvius. This really is a lovely place to spend some time and we'll definitely be returning.

Room Tip: All rooms have the same fabulous views. If you like a quiet cup of your favourite tea or coffee whil...

We just returned from Italy and stayed 4 nights at the Hotel Belair. After staying a few busy nights in Rome, we were happy to get to Sorrento for some R&R and this hotel exceeded all expectations. We traveled with another couple and had side-by-side balconies overlooking the most stunning view I've ever seen. We sat out on our balconies before dinner each night enjoying wine, cheese, bread and the gorgeous view. Breakfast was above and beyond what we expected after our conservative cappuccino/croissant breakfasts in Rome. They offered everything from the more Western eggs/sausage, to European muslix cereals and meats, as well as delicious cakes and pastries. The coffee was to die for. Staff was pretty helpful as well although sometimes I felt like we were pestering them with our questions. Sorrento is a great place to stay, we visited Positano and Pompei but decided to spend our last day at a spa in Sorrento. Overall a very relaxing vacation.

Room Tip: Spring for the room with a balcony.

Having just returned from 5 days at the Belair I had to comment & say that this hotel completely lives up to expectations. I would highly recommend and will hope to return. I wouldn't have wished to stay anywhere else as the hotel really made the holiday; Our first trip to Sorrento. Breakfast is lovely; prosecco, cafe latte, poached eggs (request from your waiter) and a buffet of tempting nibbles that varies a little daily. The room we had was perfect; clean and spacious balcony with stunning view. The poolside was great for a bit of sun in the morning & the bar was relaxed but elegant for evening drinks. Lunch on the balcony was delicious, though we preferred dining in town in the evening. Recommend booking taxi's through the hotel when necessary but enjoyed the walk into town (despite the heights!) every evening. The staff were excellent, the trimmings are all top notch and the hotel is one of my favourites. Ideally located for visiting the sights of this area (Capri, Positano, Pompeii etc) or for just relaxing and staying local. Weather was excellent too. Couldn't ask for more.

Just returned from a 9 day stay at the Hotel Belair for our 25th anniversary. As others have said it is a very romantic place to stay. The rooms, we had a suite, were extremely large and well decorated, the view from our large balcony was amazing of the harbor and the location on the cliffs of Sorrento provide breath taking views. However what makes the hotel special is the attention you get from the staff. The front desk staff of Monica, Francesco and GianLuca were terrific taking care of all our requests for dining recommendations, group tours and private tours and small items to make our stay special. The dining room staff under the direction of Michele was attentive and the food was very good. The hotel provided many memories for this special time.

We stayed at Hotel Belair for our 40th wedding Anniversary October 20012. Everything was perfect, our room, balcony, views, friendly staff, pool etc. Highlights were buckfiz with a delicious breakfast sat on restaurant balcony in sunshine and lovely romantic themed evening meal listening to a Tenor singing. We have already recommended the hotel to friends.

Room Tip: I think all rooms have a balcony with sea views

Stayed here 3 nights at the end of our 8 day tour of Italy. It was the best part of our trip. We were exhausted and this was the perfect end of tour. Great location, we did do Capri and Pompei while staying here. Easy walk into town, or down to beach. Breakfast was superb! Rooms were clean and quiet. Free wireless. Wish the pool was heated, as we were there in October, and the water was a lil to chilly for me! Would love to stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for room w/balcony.
