Only a couple of minutes walk up hill from the town centre of Sorrento, this beautiful hotel is well worth a visit. The views are spectacular, and are the focal point from the restaurant, deck and pool areas. The food is very good; waiter service in the evening so no walking around a heaving buffet full of dry or cold food! Breakfast includes complimentary Prosecco and there are freshly cooked omlettes and pancakes plus full English breakfast or continental to choose from. The pool area is peaceful, with 5 cascading pools, plenty of sunbeds and lots of deck areas to choose from, plus a pool bar with waiter service and restaurant. Drinks were fairly expensive in the hotel and in bars in the town, but in the hotel you don't need to worry about carrying money as you set up a tab to your room when you check in. As with most hotels in the area, the Capodimonte is built into the hills, so is not really ideal for people with limited mobility, but there are plenty of lifts between floors. Rooms are very clean and spacious, we had no complaints. Staff are English speaking and very friendly and helpful. If I went back to Sorrento, I would not stay anywhere else, beautiful!
