We spent 5 days in Sorrento and picked this hotel based on other positive Trip Advisor reviews.
The hotel was in a perfect location for exploring Sorrento and only a 10 minute stroll to the main Piazza Tasso. The hotel staff were very friendly and happy to offer sight-seeing information and dinning recommendations. We only used the tunnel shuttle twice as the tunnel isn't that steep and only takes a few minutes to walk through. Our room was located on the 2nd floor and was clean, bright and of a good size. Although not quite as modern as some of the images on the website might have indicated, the sea view from the balcony was fantastic and more than made up for the slightly old fashioned interior. Our bathroom was clean although quite basic and the shower cubicle was a little narrow. We didn't have any problems with noise, despite the hotel seeming reasonably busy. We took breakfast in the hotel every day and were pleased with the selection available. Almost everything was served self-service buffet style, with eggs then cooked to order and there was certainly a wide enough choice to suit most tastes.
We travelled to the hotel via the air-coach at a cost of €10 each and took a taxi to the hotel which cost a further €15 (much cheaper than the €90 quoted to us by one company for a one way mini-bus transfer!)
The public transport system in the region is frequent and reliable, and we would recommend using this to travel to the main tourist attractions unless you really want to go on a guided tour. The train from Sorrento to Pompeii costs only €3 return, leaves every 30 minutes and Pompeii station is only a 3 minute walk to the site entrance. The boat to Capri was €27 return each, with 2 sailings per hour on either the hydrofoil or ferry. The Funicular tram (€1.40 each) is located directly opposite the Marina Grande in Capri, and will take you up to the main centre of capri in less than 5 minutes.
