We stayed in Sorrento at the end of our Amalfi walking holiday. We were looking forward to this hotel, as it was the most expensive on the trip - the other hotels on the walk had been great, so we expected even better.
We were VERY disappointed. The room was quite cramped and smelled of smoke. The most disappointing thing however was the breakfast. We arrived to a room full of uncleared tables. We should have guessed by the piles of uneaten food something was wrong. The bread and croissants were stale and fruit was poor and the coffee machine didn't work. We tried to go back up stairs by the lift, which seems to be stuck. After we walked up we noticed the clearner had jammed it open with her bucket on floor 2, while she cleaned the corridor. We were also in our room with the "do not disturb" sign on the door, but the cleaner walked in - luckily we were just packing for a day out. The walls were very thin and the shower drain was clogged.
The hotel however is in a good location, is clean and the old lady on the desk was pleasant and helpful - but everything else was disappointing.
