“Nice place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013 via mobile

Just finished a 3 day working holiday here.
Great hotel, friendly staff, clean and well stocked rooms with views to die for.
We had our final company meal in the private dining room around the indoor pool and was probably one of the most beautiful settings ever.
Next time ill be back in vacation.

Felt like I was on a cruise ship here. Crowded breakfasts, line up for fresh OJ, line up for omlettes, crepes, etc... People piling their plates high with food. Beautiful view though from our room as we were on the sea side. The rooms at the back look out of a rock wall. All the benefits of a big hotel though, friendly helpful service, good room service menu, kids club, kids pool. Hilton honours bar was also nice with a good food selection and view from the outdoor terrace. I would not stay here again though as it had zero atmosphere, it was not my choice as I was on a family vacation.

Room Tip: Sea view is really lovely

My husband and I spent three nights during our Spring Break trip to the Amalfi coast. Our first stop was Sorrento. The hotel is not the most conveniently located (15 minutes from the hustle and bustle), but that is the only downfall of this fantastic hotel. We had a lovely room, with a view of Mt. Vesuvius and the sea.
The staff is what sets this hotel apart from others. I had a lost baggage issue and Mauro (front desk staff) went far above and beyond what I would have expected.
The bar is good (again with great staff) and we spend a couple of cozy evenings there.

I was only able to stay two nights here, but wish I could have stayed longer! There were three of us traveling, so we booked a family room with two beds. As a Diamond member, they upgraded us with an awesome view of Mediterranean Sea and Mount Vesuvius. The bed was a bit firmer than what I’m used to, but I was able to sleep fine. There were controls next to the bed that allowed you to open the curtains, control the lights and set a do not disturb for the room. The rest of the room seemed pretty much standard. The pool looked awesome, but as it was February we didn’t get to use it.

I saw signs for the executive lounge, but wasn’t told about it. They instead directed us to a part of the lounge/bar area to get free drinks and appetizers for being a Diamond guest. They were quite good and the staff attentive.

As others have pointed out, it’s quite a steep walk/climb up the road from the train station. Unless you’re young/inshape and traveling light, I’d suggest getting a taxi. However, be aware taxis in this town aren’t cheap especially at night.

We ate dinner there one time and breakfast. Both were very good. Wifi reception in our room was very weak however. Also we were given fresh fruit when we checked into the room and a bottle of limoncello the day we were checking out -- very thoughtful!

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a view!

Just returned from a few days in Sorrento, staying at the Hilton Sorrento Palace Hotel. It is a quiet hotel easy15 mins walk from the centre of Sorrento. From the first time we entered the door, all the staff were very friendly and happy to help.

Our room had amazing views across the Bay of Naples to Mt Vesuvius. Just the early morning mist obscured the view slightly.
The 2 members of staff in the Piano Bar in the evening were great, Prices not too bad for hotels.

My only 2 negative comments are
1. Not a great range of food in the Hotel Restaurant in the evenings.
2. No free wifi could be found in the hotel, They wanted 7.50euros for 24 hours. Come on Hilton, McDonalds give free wifi even if you only by a cheap burger in the establishments.

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade to a room with view of the bay, the Cliff view is not so good

The Hilton Palace is a very good hotel that offers friendly and effecient service. The hotel itself is very big and sits on a hill at the top of sorrento which offers the most magnificent views. We didn't dine in the restuarant at night as we chose to try the local restaurants in the heart of sorrento but we always came back and had a night cap and canapes outside on the terrace which was perfect. Breakfast offered an impressive selection, the only downside was that they only had one chef on the omelette station which caused a big back log of guests at peak times. The rooms are good and have nice balconies looking onto the bay of naples, the only problem with the rooms were that the corridors were very noisy and the rooms themselves were not very well sound proofed. All in all a very good stay and we will definitely return.
