“Great Experience- use Hilton points!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

I LOVED this hotel. My mom brought back her Sorrento Palace slippers. If you are a Hilton Diamond member this is the place for you! The room was fully equipped with the essentials, comfortable, and spacious. The food was delicious and captured the flavors of Southern Italy.
Note: the hotel is about ten minutes from the train station and area for local bus/shuttle.
On a clear day you can see Capri! Take the bus to Positano, I will always remember the hillside towns and the hundreds of stairs to get to the shore restaurants.

Room Tip: If you are saving up Hilton points, this is one of the properties to utilize those points! Great vie...

We took the sea view room and it was worth every penny, the view is really breath taking. The location of the hotel is good, a few minutes from the city center. The parking costs 15 euro per day and it's down the hill (3 minutes walking from the hotel). The room service was outstanding and delicious but the hotel has a bad side as well – the room doors are hollow and you can hear everything from the outside, including door slamming which we heard pretty often. Also, the shower head was leaking and the water pressure wasn't enough for us. All in all, one of the best in the area.

Room Tip: Take the sea view.

Nice hotel. The rooms were average for a hilton.I did not like the flooring in the rooms. If you have a shower, then walk barefoot on the floors, then your feet are dirty again. The staff were very helpfull and knowledgable. Great service from Fabio. Guiseppie an Pina also very nice and helpfull.
Used the executive lounge every day. Loved the fresh orange juice every day and cappichinos.
The food was good.
The views are lovely from the balcony and the roof top.
Its a 10-15 walk into town. When arriving at the station.either take an E line bus up to the hotel with your luggage or catch a cab. Without luggage the walk is fine.

This hotel is very well located within a ten minute down hill walk into Sorrento. It is a huge hotel with a massive reception area. We booked a room with sea view and it was an amazing view over the bay and Mt Vesuvius.
The room was a good size with balcony and the bathroom was also large. However, the walls and door were very thin. The door seemed to be made of cardboard as you could hear everything through it and so sleep was easily disturbed. The flooring is made of a plastic matting and alas, my husband had a toe nail stick in his foot, so not a well vacuumed room! The other problem we had was that the toilet had a mind of its own and kept flushing itself 12 times. This drove me mad and we went to reception on our way to a Pompei Tour and asked them to sort the toilet flush problem, which they assured us would be dealt with. We returned, swam, sat in the enormous bar area having cocktails, followed by dinner on the terrace overlooking the bay. By the time we got to bed and started to drop off, the toilet decided to flush, over and over and over. After about 12 times, we dressed and my husband went down to reception. Within minutes, the plumber sorted it by accessing it on the wall outside the room. So, why couldn't they have done it earlier in the day when asked to avoid ruining a nice day.
The breakfast was amazing, a massive selection of cooked, including freshly made to order eggs and pancakes, as well as continental pastries and meats, cheeses, cereals, freshly squeezed juice, etc.. The meals by the 5 cascading pools was good, burgers, club sandwiches and the pool was pleasant to sit around and service for drinks was good. The restaurant on the terrace had disappointing food.
Staff were friendly and booked our tours to Pompei and Capri.

We stayed here for 3 nights the second week of Sept. It was my first trip to Sorrento. Although we had a car it remained parked at 15 Euros a day. I agree with all comments regarding the walk into town. It was good exercise.
Our room was on the first floor which offered a water and mountain view. Since I have Gold Honor status, I had access to the Executive Lounge on the 7th floor. The views from this level are outstanding! Our morning breakfast and evening drinks also hit the spot. We found all the staff to be very helpful...especially "Margarita" who works at the Executive Lounge. Her english is great and she gave up some good tips for where the locals eat.
It rained 2 out of 3 days we were there so I just did more shopping. The prices in Sorrento were even better than in the Tuscany. We enjoyed our stay here and would love to go back again one day.

I’ve seen varying opinions of this hotel, here is mine!

Location is perfect, view over the bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius is amazing. In terms of view, you have two room choices, either overlooking the bay, or looking at a mountain cliff face. Pay for the fantastic former, it is amazing to sit out early morning and at night.

We stayed on the exec 6th floor, which means a room the depth of the entire hotel, rather than the lower floors that have rooms front and back. Space was fantastic, as was the service in the exec lounge that you have access to. There is a light breakfast, lunch and evening snack served in the lounge, with soft drinks and wine throughout the day, spirits in the early evening.

There is a lot said about the walk into the centre, my take is as follows – we stroll at a medium pace, it was a 10 minute to the centre, 15 coming back, the hill is really not all that an incline. We sat and heard discussions in the lounge about having to pay taxi fares to and from the hotel (20 euro each way), I really don’t think that these residents even gave the walk a go. There is a sneaky service exit out the back, which brings you out a little lower down the hill, again, there is a lot said, my opinion is that it only saves a couple of minutes, and is often locked….

Overall, we had a great stay, only minor negative comment is the noise that travels from the corridors into the rooms, but apart from that, lovely hotel, great staff.
